Last winter I hit my knee on a rail really hard. I thought it was all ok but then a few months later I started getting knee pain. I got an MRI and the doc found a piece of cartilage behind my knee cap had broken off, apparently from a direct blow to the knee cap (I assume it was the rail). Now I'm gonna get a consultation with an orthopedic specialist for surgery.
Do you guys know anything about surgery for this type of injury? Has anyone here had this injury? Does it affect your skiing at all in the long run? Are there any questions I should ask in the consultation? Can you ski pain free now?
