Removing bindings

So, beyond DIN adjustments and etc, I usually never screw with my bindings. Just makes sense to have a professional set up your gear, and I'm not exactly a tech. But I'm trying to move a pair of bindings from an old pair of skis to a new pair, and I don't want to bother making the tech do it. Doesn't seem like a big deal to unscrew a couple bindings... thoughts? Could I fuck up the skis (which I still intend to use), or will they be fine until I get them filled and re-drilled?

By the way, they're looks, so the screws on the hellpiece are obscured... not sure how to deal with that.

screw the adjuster on the heelpiece all the way back until it wont go anymore then slide it off with your hand

Yep. Theres nothing special you need to know. You may have to buy a large screwdriver that will fit the screws and that will reach into the front toepiece recessed area.

The heelpiece has a big screw on the very back of it (the base, not on the 'stick' part). Stick in a screwdriver and turn it in the direction that makes it move away from the toepiece. when it wont go anymore, pull it backwards. the other screws are easily accisible underneath.

The only tricky part aside from that is making sure you ahve a screwdriver big enough to grip the screws, and long enough to reach into the front holes.

Wood glue is also useful for when you reattatch the bindings. put in a dab of it so right before you screw in the binding so that the hole becomes water sealed.
