Peak Resorts is Corrupt

This is a giant rant post at peak resorts management so dont bother reading if you dont care. Here is a summary of what got me banned from Boston Mills Brandywine today. So winter storm stella came in. She dropped 6 inches of pow so we decided to build a pow jump off of this little natural hill between trails. The gm walks by and says we are perfectly fine. We were shocked because usually its illegal. I remember that I have a shovel in my car so I try to bring it on the lift. A manager took it really nicely and said i can pick it up at guest services later with no problem. Then around 2 hours later the GM sends his little servant that he hired this year up the hill to take my pass. I am pretty good friends with this guy, he is just new so he has a low rank. He thinks the whole thing is BS but has to follow orders. I go down to defend myself. He literally couldn't list a reason why shovels are banned when we are allowed to build a jump. Then he looks me in the eye for like 60 seconds and says "i am sick of you, get out of my resort!" I didnt get my pass or anything back so now im sitting at home contemplating how im gonna ski and if I should just quit since i cant ski the local hill. Ill still go on ski vacations of course but the nearest hill is 1 hour away and my dad doesnt want me getting a pass there. This gm got sent from new hampshire at wildcat mountain to Ohio probably because he is awful. He is super cheap and doesnt give the park crew any funding and makes as little snow as possible to stay open. I got a solid 39 days in this season and learned a ton of stuff but I don't even know if its worth continuing on. Thanks i just wanted to share this bull crap story

imetherdI work park crew for a small hill owned by peak resorts and i can fully back you up the management at peak resorts is horrible, no matter what resort.


It is terrible. I have no idea how big boulder was allowed to hire pat morgan and get their funding. My theory is that if you aren't on the peak pass, you don't mater.

TOAST.From seeing situations like this, kids always think they are being respectful, but are often not. GM seems like a douche, but theres gotta be more to the story that is being left out.


Josh Boyd, Jesse Boyd, and the lesser known Jason Boyd (Original person involved in Peak Resorts Takeover of Alpine Valley), along with Cousin Zachary Thornton are all ill-fitted, ill-tempered spoiled adults who do anything daddy tells them for money.

Jesse is a convicted drug addict with his wife, Jason dropped off the radar mysteriously after OSHA was investigating Alpine Valley due to numerous safety issues, which were never properly addressed. They treat their employees worse than dog doodie, care nothing about true maintenance of the resorts, and just wish to line the pockets.

I believe that the writer of this thread was given the okay, just so Josh had something to do, and someone to target while he was bored.

Personally, I'd loved to go and shake everyone's hands involved with treating me like dirt, and basically using me like a dog, like every one of their employees. (I can almost guarantee that every employee who's ever said anything nice about the resort, was bribed, or threatened to be fired...) And I'd love to rub it in their faces how much they lost out on having an employee who cares about the guests and safety of the resort.

While I do think that the OP is a whining douche, I do secretly pray that Peak Resorts goes bankrupt and has to sell out to Vail or the like. I would love to get on the epic pass like Mt Brighton in Detroit.

Thats why i said yesterday that the only places that they care sbout are on the peak pass. If you are owned by peak and aren't on that pass, then you are irrelevant. BMBW used to have these giant amazing parks until a member of the boyd family came to run the place. The parking lot used to be filled every saturday and now the most I saw this year was maybe 80 cars or 1/3 of the parking lot. My guess is its because they cut the college discount night.

This makes no since my freind got his pass cut for going through a stopped lift and jumped off. He still skied the rest of the day and the lifty that cut his pass watched us go up and down as she sat in the bottom lift box. one of the snowboarders and some other skiers i ride with went up a quad lift with 5 people and the lifty thought the snowboarder was "strapped in" because she heard someone yell "oh my god she didn't notice." For the record he has a flow style binding and he slipped his foot in to hold his board on our way up and the lifty was coming down and she told him not to do that. so it was me and him waiting to go up the lift and we got to the area where you stand and she stopped the lift and told him to leave.

Oh shit, i thought all peak resorts were on the peak pass. Thats really dumb that they arnt.

Oh no only the tho north eastern ones are. Anybody west of big boulder pays isnt on the pass. Luckily the ohio resorts (there are 4 of them technically but only 2 are relevant) are all on the same pass but its a terrible value due to the lack of investment in the resorts. I didn't have a problem with the pricing before the new manager came. But since peak owns us we get free skiing in march or something if we stay at a peak resort lodging site. Im guessing they are outrageously priced. Its the same for airfare from here to vermont as here to denver, and im pretty sure anything in summit county beats a peak resort.

My final say is that I believe he at least should have been sat down and talked to first rather than instantly pulled. Something had to happen just maybe could have been handled a little more maturely on both parts.

I almost got banned for starting shit with a resort on social media for shit talking their park staff. The pulled my pass for the rest of the season, and told me that I might never ski there again. I wrote them an apology letter and they said I had two strikes and not to pull anything like that again. I suggest you just apologize, say it was a misunderstanding and that you had no intention to break any rules. Also, if you're gonna shit on a resort on social media, I suggest not using an account with your name on it, and not telling anyone you know that you run it.

I can verify this. Seymour park staff are all snowboarders and sometimes call me a faggot for being a skier. Ski patrol also told us we can drink on the chair if we throw our cans at the towers so they're easy to collect. They're also hilarious on social media.
