doublecupDude what are you talking about? All this shit is coming from the UFC. Conor McGregor is basically the face and voice of the UFC and he is the one that kept dropping Mayweather's name in order to get attention and publicity. Mayweather didn't even know who the fuck Conor McGregor was until he started dropping his name all over the place trying to hype himself up and get media attention. Why the fuck would Mayweather who is a boxer want to fight a random UFC fighter that he doesn't even know who he is?
Mayweather has fought the biggest name opponents there is, for him to box with a guy that has absolutely ZERO professional boxing credentials is a complete joke. It is like a homeless man that knows how to box wanting to challenge Mayweather. None of this shit would have ever seen the light of day unless McGregor wasn't running his mouth off on every media outlet dropping the Mayweather name. And the funny thing is, now that Mayweather has agreed to fight and has a date set and they have already reserved the T-Mobile center in Vegas for the fight in June, McGregor hasn't said a single thing. He is quite as a mouse ever since Mayweather agreed to this bullshit.
In regards to how much Mayweather and McGregor should get paid for this fight, Mayweather should get 90% of the money, because he is the main draw, he is a boxer, and he is facing some no name with ZERO professional boxing credentials.
You're clueless dude. Jesus.
Why would Mayweather want to fight McGregor? For the biggest payday of his life! Why do you think Floyd takes any fight he takes? Because he's just such a competitor that he wants to prove himself? His name is "Money". It's the most hyped fight of all time and it's brilliantly been promoted by all sides. I think Floyd is set to walk away with close to 300 million, and Conor will get 100 mil. This is about money and hype.
Not to mention, boxing has lost its relevancy and fan base outside of a rabidly passionate but small group of hardcore enthusiasts. MMA has taken a lot of boxing's historical casual fans. This is brilliant because this fight will draw international MMA fans, many of whom have never bought a boxing ppv in their lives.
No, this fight makes no sense from a boxing standpoint, but it makes sense in the only place that counts-- the bank.
And Mayweather is the main draw??? Dude....you're delusional. That's not true even a little bit. Mayweather is a notoriously boring fighter (from a spectator standpoint I mean. He's probably the greatest ever technically) and this fight with McGregor will surpass the gates and buys of his fights with Pacquiao, De la Hoya, Moseley, Cotto, Canelo, Ortiz, etc.
Mcgregor is the draw, that's the only reason this fight has generated the interest it has.
And I know your post is 5 months old, but it's laughable that you spent this thread implying that McGregor ran his mouth and disappeared when he has put this fights promotion on his back and hasn't stopped talking in months. This fight regardless of outcome will send McGregor to the stratosphere.
The worst part of this fight honestly is all the utterly clueless people who haven't paid a lick of attention to boxing or MMA in their lives suddenly being Max Kellerman lite experts and breaking down the fighters tools and making predictions. Just give it a rest and watch what happens.
