Good ski wax recipes

Apparently some people have used candle wax, with mixed results. I know it seems expensive but just buy a big stick of the cheapest ski wax, Its worth it and itll last a long time. Bought a bar and base repair sticks like 4 years ago, still going strong. And if you're cheap you can put a tarp down or something collect all your scrapings.

Maybe try straight parafin wax, or boil it to get it more firm.

Any wax that smells like a scented candle..........well you reap what you sow.
There is no advantage to add perfume to a wax. Maybe girl snowboaders like it, but you will suck wind.
Scented wax makes me sick. I hate it when on occasion I am brought some skis that have used it. I tell them if they ever use that smelly wax, don't bring them to me.

Boiling wax will destroy it. That's not how you make a wax harder, that's how you burn it.
Now it's like burnt toast. Enjoy the flavor!

BTW any areas you drip that repair candle all over the place for a small scratch are not needed. Those areas will no longer hold wax. Those areas are now "sealed".
Base repair only when needed, then weld with wire.
