I am trying to get sponsored for freerunning and most of the requirements are 100 subs on youtube, it would be great if some of you subscribed and helped me out.

Max3ski720im trying believe me but edits take ages to compile, and no one see my edits
Rennis_DeynoldsJust watched your vids. Lmao you suck kid, how do you expect to get sponsored if you dont even hit street? Jumping on a trampoline doing backflips isnt free running. Every 12 year old kid and his cousin thinks they're good enough to get "sponsored" regardless of the sport. Getting sponsored isn't everything, trust me, I was saga boy trying to get sponsored when I was horse shit at skiing too.
crotchventWow I'm suprised you watched thise i didnt make it passed the boring titles and lame look thumbnails. Good thing to know i was right and didn't waste time.
Rennis_Deynoldsi find it entertaining to watch shitty edits

Max3ski720i havent made my full edit and its too wet to train outside, you got a old edit i can chat shit about too?
MalcolmOh man this thread is brutal. In skiing you usually need to have followers and put out edits on a consistent basis or place in competitions. I would imagine freerunning is similar. What are you looking to get out of freerunning sponsorship? The gear isn't super expensive so it would only really be useful to fund travel expenses to different spots and competitions or for claiming purposes.
If you want my advice, don't make sponsorship your goal. I wouldn't let this thread discourage you. Keep doing what you're doing. If you're passionate and develop some skillz the sponsors will come to you.
LonelyWhat free running sponsorship requires a 100 subs, this really just seems like a stunt to get more subscribers. Which is stupid because if you are trying to get big on YouTube it's all about view count, and if you have under 20k subscribers they are not going to do anything for your view count. Try making more interesting content that gets views without subscribers, then the subs will come and give you a base.

doublecupdude that's what i said from the start, you need to build an audience
Max3ski720im trying to but as some people in this thread have said, why would you watch a uninteresting edit when you can watch some of the best on youtube?
MalcolmYou don't have to be throwing the craziest stuff to gain a following. It could be about a style that's unique to you or the kinds features you hit.
Max3ski720i havent made my full edit and its too wet to train outside, you got a old edit i can chat shit about too?
Rennis_Deynoldsyeah it's on my videos titled shitty old edit
SkierBetchI checked out some of the freerunning stuff you had and my critiques would be mostly in the filming area. Companies see amateur vids on a constant basis, you want to make yours stand out. When you include "edit" in the title of a video, that implies a more full experience and a variety of shots. To me when I see "edit" I expect to see more editing than just slow-mo, I would expect to see some b-roll, more stability in the shots. You are putting in physical effort in the freerunning department, I'll give you that, but I would've hoped for something easier to watch. Feels like maybe your stuff would do better if you could put something together that had the actual freerunning shots in it.
I have to say, I liked the ski edit a lot more than the trampoline and freerunning stuff. It was longer, you didn't abuse the slow motion feature, had more variety, less shaky. I think if you keep working on it, you could get some much cleaner freerunning stuff together.
doublecup
Rennis_Deynoldswow trolled!
jjdsteezeIm confused, people can get sponsored for flipping into foampits? Or am i just missing the actual freerunning videos?
Max3ski720Thanks so much, is should probably get a better editing software rather than gopro studio. again thanks for the balanced critique
LonelyAnd you also can't expect 45 second videos to go anywhere. They won't even show up in the algorithm.
MikeWeinerONE1-2 minute videos get the most views. Nobody wants to watch a 5 minute video of amateur stuff. 45 seconds is actually good if you include good content.

LonelyI would agree with that. But 45 seconds of which 30 is slow mo or cuts of the same shot is not good. I've found that 1.5 to 2 minutes is the golden zone as long as you don't have more than a couple slow mo shots.
Rennis_Deynoldstrust me, I was saga boy trying to get sponsored when I was horse shit at skiing too.
skier_boy26I didn't watch shit for videos, but I'll throw some advice out there. None of this is revolutionary.
1) Don't do something to get sponsored. If you want bragging rights (which is a pretty shit reason), be good/unique/valuable at what you do. Sponsorship is purely tertiary.
2) Sponsorship is a two-way street. Your role as an "ambassador," "team member," "athlete," or what the fuck ever the term du jour is, is to promote a brand. If you cannot do that effectively, then what good are you to them? Think of a sponsorship from THEIR perspective. This is easier said than done. I see it too often: "Hey, I am doing something and I have a blog and my family reads it. They will buy your stuff" is not adequate.
3) It's competitive. Seriously fucking competitive. There are others out there that want it more than you. They will put in more effort than you. They may have more charisma than you. Skills. Bankroll. Experience. Luck. Boobs. Etc. The fact is it takes WORK, not some half-assed shit. You have to grind.
3b) Remember that it is competitive. You need to STAND OUT, and you have very little opportunity to do that unless you're purely fucking savage or your progress (see 3c). You need to make one hell of an impression in order to rise to the top. This means you need to deliver professionalism, clear goals and quid pro quo, and fine-tuned, creative and solid CONTENT. Saying "Hey I have a few videos online, I want to be sponsored" is instant trash bin action.
3c) It takes perseverance and persistence. Why did you not get ____? Evaluate, learn, and improve. I give you a little credit in that you think you will be "sponsored" at 100 subscribers, so you're trying to achieve that goal. However, it will take more than just asking a forum to do that.
4) Editing software doesn't mean shit. If your content sucks, then all the software in the world isn't going to save you. People have catapulted to the top with nothing more than quick chops on their phone.
5) Since when is 100 subscribers merit a sponsorship?
6) When all else fails, knee pads are always effective.
