CaseyThere's a really interesting rollerblading documentary called barely dead. It talks about the era when professional skaters were getting sponsored by like Gap and Levi's, and how these big companies hijacked the industry and then bounced once the popularity started to fade.
That sounds pretty interesting, I'll check it out.
I did a bit of rollerblading with one of my buddies a while ago. We sucked but it was a lot of fun. I often drive by the skatepark I used to go to and I never see anybody rollerblading. It's kind of sad to see it dying. It's got a bit of a stigma associated with it in that it will never be nearly as cool as skateboarding. But skiing suffered that same stigma at some point too when being compared to snowboarding. I think it has the potential to make a comeback. Like a_pla5tic_bag said, there needs to be new talent.
