Is armada no longer the king of the park

With the rise of other skis companies that are making all-mountian park and park skis. is armada lossing to the other comapnys.

Armada is undoubtedly one of the most successful park ski companies and is nowhere near being dead.

With all these smaller brands surfacing and making high quality park skis, experienced skiers are trying them out and Armadas are slowly becoming less common in the park but they still dominate with the younger skiers looking to get into freestyle. I'm not saying Armadas are only for beginners but I do see them as a really good intro to park skiing.

Honestly I've skied Armadas for 2 years and I've grown to kind of hate them for being bland.

I got a pair this year because i always see edits of people using old ass ar7s that look like they last forever but mine broke real quick.

I think that is going to a bit cyclical too though - these small companies are dope, but lots of them don't stay in business for more than a few years and not all the product is good just because the company is small and cool.

Armada one of the most OG ski brands and I have nothing but respect for them whether or not they are declining. I think its really cool to see brands like ON3P and HG rising in their popularity but Armada is like a staple in skiing and I don't see them going away anytime soon

Absolutely agree. I definitely will be curious to see how it shakes out over the next 2-3 years.

I have a feeling that established brands like Line and Armada may go through transitions - but are going absolutely nowhere.

Yessir in still rocking a 2 pairs of pants and a jacket from 2013 and a old requiem jacket and my pipe cleaners are still going strong af and it's there 3rd season and I ski bumps on em too

I just bought the Atka Jacket in XL and it is probably first jacket to ever fit me properly as a 6'2" skinny guy. Feels so durable as well.

I have the L skinny fit grey camo pants from that year and a 2013 scout jacket and they fit is just perfect and they look great together or separate.

i almost never spend my time praising and defending a company but armada has continued to impress me since they came out in 2002

what other company would you say might top them? theyre true to the sport and their roots but are big and high quality. i dont think another company comes close in park skiing

theyre sorely missing charging skis but whatever

I see a lot of "older" people (aka people who are more likely to pay full price and not buy second hand) riding armada these days. they're doing fine.

Look at Phil and Henrik, Both with Armada and some of the hottest skiers out rn. It would take a lot for other companies to out-sell and dominate Armada.

Most peoples first pair of park skis - Line or Armada, and many people will stick with those two unless they decide to try out a smaller, more "core" brand. They're doing just fine, it's actually impressive that companies like Line and Armada can gain such mainstream attention without the need to build a racing fleet - everyone knows that the big money in skiing is racing and "rentals" (or first-timers skis) - super big ski companies (Rossi, Nordica, Volkl, Head, ect.) all make their money on these big markets and just see their park/freeride lines as side-options to stay relevant with (which is why they don't have very deep lines of those products and cut back on those budgets all the time). The fact that companies like Armada and Line can be in small shops and big box shops right next to those brands without anyone wondering what they are is really impressive in my opinion.

Armada is still know as one as of the best. But i feel that other brands are coming up with some different types of skis that are competing with armadas gear. The trend nowadays is many people are starting to switch to smaller ski brands to try something different. In the end the brand kills it every year and for me personally they always come up with some of the best skis on the hill.

Armadas are probably the most common ski at my local resort. Even in the rental ski fleet.

I think Armada has had a higher market share in the past in comparison to companies such as Moment and on3p but don't quote me on that. IMO, Armada is a core company in the industry and will always have a huge influence, no matter their market share. Is Armada's current annual growth comparable to the growth of these smaller, seemingly booming companies such as on3p? I don't think so.

What does having a stacked team have anything to do with how the ski performs. If I was able to pay the best 10 skiers 100,000 a year and give the 2x4s, how does that make the ski or 2x4 better?

I agree, it's always older dudes with full tilts and armadas from 2012 who haven't skied for years.

Well you might be able to ask them how to make better skis, and they would tell you because that what you pay them for. I get it your pro team isn't going to give you much input on factory QC or specifically what glue to use, but if the skis suck you're going to fail, and you're going to cut you're team. I mean come on is this the most obvious answer in the world orange name??

Good point and the correct answer. A lot of guys have a lot of input into skis that are riding for ski companies. Obv a 2x4 isn't going to work. However the best skis aren't necessarily what every athlete is on. There are a lot more variables involved. Money is one of them. When you risk your limbs and life, getting paid is important. But yes, you are correct.

Haha, Armada is probably one of two or three freeskiing brands that actually turns a profit. They've got arguably the best team in the industry and have been able to last 15 years because they know what they're doing.

HG skis and other small brands have their niche, but the only companies I can see chipping away at Armada's market share would be ON3P, Faction or maybe 4frnt.
