Has anyone ever heard of a lift ticket to get you to the top of a resort so you can access the backcountry behind the mountain?

yeah they're called skins and at bindings. you pay a ton of money for the first time but they are free after that.

yeah brighton in utah does a 1 ride ticket for 15$

We both have at gear. This is for Sun Peaks where you really can't access the backside from anywhere other than the resort

Just hike up the front side? That's what I was trying to get at unless sun peaks doesn't allow people to hike up.

The new Sea-to-Sky Gondola in Squamish is effectively providing that, although its not a current ski resort. Pretty cool to access some incredible zones - more info here: https://www.seatoskygondola.com/adventures/backcountry

I've only been up in the summer thus far and the view is incredible. Hoping to get up there once I stack some more experience touring. I'm a big proponent for the gondolaa, the more outside experiencing places like Sea to Sky, the better!

Wildcat, NH offers that. You can buy a single-run lift pass so that you can access the Wildcat Valley Ski trail. The WVST runs ~6 miles down to the town of Jackson, so you have to do a car drop to make it work.

I asked Sun Peaks and they don't which is a shame because it really restricts the access
