Shoey-SkiRIP GORE IS ASS, but anyways, tussey wasnt as bad as usual this year. They had a few decent setups some were actually fun, way better than previous years

QuaffYou're on crack if you think granite peak has a bad park. It's top 5 in the Midwest overall, but the jumps are by far the best in the Midwest. Nobody else has a 60-footer.
nolliebackflipAll of these parks you think are bad are fucking perfect compared to the terrain park of Luosto in Finnish lappland. They have like three small sketchy ass jumps with some potato field looking like landing. The only rails they have are two straight press boxes that are shorter than my skis.

voy10Do you think tussey is gonna get better and better over the next few years? Not trying to drive 2 hrs to springs from Main Campus in a few years

sheaskisOkemo makes a skier cross course in the middle of the park and EVERY SINGLE RAIL IS RUSTY

b0ssIll just say vail cause it opens mid january. The mountain opened late nevember for reference
theabortionatorI was never a big fan of there parks. The one that's not golden peak was always hilariously neglected to the point of being worse than a rando small mtn generally and gp wasn't really my jam. Ive hit some wonky jumps in there. Raik setups were generally pretty good though but something about that trail just feels weird to me. I do like being able to hit the pipe as well.
I havent ridden vail in like 4 or 5 years though.

fenbeldmanWhitetail is definitely worse than Liberty... Not that liberty has a nice park, but I've seen worse. I'm park crew there and we have had a tough year because we had 3 of our 4 park groomers move out to Sun Vally so our new groomers are still learning. Also we had water issues with snowmaking and a new management system. Liberty should make some progress in the next couple years, I'm doing my best to add better features and find hard working people for park crew. Also a kid named Tyler Archie did throw a dub backflip there this year. I witnessed it. it wasn't laid out or anything cause the jump was tiny, but he did throw a dub.
SPK_Oh man, the parks in my region would be SO fitting here. I've been a shaper myself, and I just don't understand how someone would possibly make anything like that and approve it. But you're probably more interested in the pictures I have of the resorts' definition of a kicker. I posted them in a similar thread, and I probably have a few more somewhere but these are explicit enough already...
theabortionatorOh my gawd. The right too are that horrible compared to that racecar speed booter on the left.
Jesus
PeppermillRenoAny bigger jumps at Nstar yet?
When I was there a week ago Tuesday the one at the bottom had no lip was weird.
I miss the old pre Vail Kirkwood park under chair 2. I was comfortable hitting everything in that even the 80 something footer at the bottom. Amazing jump line w no rails in the way.
theabortionatorI haven't ridden this week but double jump at top and bottom I believe. 3 jump line prolly coming soon. Weve been trying to nuke with snow. Also been making a fuck ton for the pipe and that push should start soon.
Idk if im gonna ride here till the holidays are over.
PeppermillRenoAh cool.
Holidays wont be bad most people buy the local pass. Jerrys stay out of the way. Not that many rich families ignore fear mongering.
matt_720Snowbird
DeebieSkeebiesobviously yeah we dont ski there for the park but honestly that park is a fucking meat grinder, the sketchiest features ive ever seen at a resort

Courmarider park - Courmayeur
The only jump bug enough to flip has an air bag and rails have been crafted during the Iron Age
theabortionatorOh damn
DeebieSkeebiesits pretty bad. they need some direction. its not the park riders mountain but a mountain with sweet natural terrain and fun park lines would be cool to see to. in todays age of ski resorts, i think both are fully possible and can be done. Squaw seems like a fun place.
But yeah its a quaint little patch of snow with features that get built, changed maybe twice throughout the year, and never get really maintained/raked/anything. Its not PC-tier stuff with shit features but its like dont waste the resources building something thats just shitty and ends up getting people hurt.

murphyboiiiiEvery hill in the Midwest
03gadeThe shitty mountain I worked at I'm CT: powder ridge. It was the first year of the reopen after being shutdown for nearly a decade and the new owner essentially found some old rails hanging around and had no qualified park crew so just kind of put them down and made some crappy ride ins.
Oh, and then he went and drove the snow cat by himself to make jumps one night and we get to work and it's kickers that were right on the edge of of the landing spots that were formed by mounds in the grass underneath. We had to send some people up to try and dismantle the kickers by hand so noone got hurt. After that fiasco we made a instructor with cat experience our terrain park manager and I left after that season.
Anyone from the ski sundown community reading this: never go to powder ridge.
ScootSkiLyfeHmm
OCoffeyMt. Hood meadows is so good now. Better than timberline which should say something
