Finally going to cop some Billygoats. Can't imagine how long they will last if I use them primarily in powder. K108's have held up amazing in midwest crud.

What is the biggest difference between BG and S116?
Just a tour layup and slightly different tail? Man I really wanna try out the new BG/Steeple shape.
Also, just and idea, but I think a thinner, more job oriented version of the C+D would be sick.
Finally retiring my old, beat, tanks of a ski called the Jeffrey 122 as my do everything (do work) ski this season. Next year is looking fresh!

I think if you're going pure tour with the setup, go Steeple 116. BGs are HEAVY. IMO, I'd go for a 108 as a tour setup given that it'd be lighter and still able to ski 99.9% of the stuff you would take a 116 out in.

My guess would be to spread out their demand, they hand make all their skis so it's probably easier being able to make and ship orders throughout the whole summer, without having to make them and sell out right when their line drops and play catch up the whole winter

We're not a publically traded company who has to worry about fitting in ski sales at the end of a fiscal year with half the ski season still left, and we don't believe it is healthy for the industry to be putting out new products that are unavailable for 8 months while right in the middle of the current year's product cycle. As such, you will see us shift more and more to a product cycle that makes sense for a brand our size, rather than the one dictated by a 20 year old, outdated business model.

Magnus, Kartel 98, Kartel 116 = greatest quiver of all time. I can't think of anything you can't do on that.
Still pumped that the Wren 88 and 98 became a reality, people on the east coast kept asking for something like that and they rip so hard. I don't know why people were so afriad of the 102s, but they kept asking for a 98 and I would always think "you know that's only 4mm smaller, right?"
M.MI can attest to that, except I'm on jefferey 114's still.
Can anyone explain the differences when they switched from Jeffrey to k116
The K116 has a tip and tail shape, along with new straight taper, that makes it float and smear better in soft snow than the J114 did. It also has an updated rocker profile that is more gradual and elongated, with a slightly lower tail for stability at speed.
Both are fun skis, but we felt the K116 was the next progression for something that is used in Powder and post-pow, more than not, at that width.
We are very happy with the K116 and why you see it back next year, unchanged, other than graphic update.
Didnt feel like making a brand new thread so ill just post here. Does anyone know how the kartel 98's break in? I just got a used pair that had seen very little park and were in great condition. I got them mounted at true center and they are pretty stiff. Will they become more playful over time?

Yes.. took me close to a full season before my Kartel 106s really broke in fully. But they are more fun the more you ride them because of the bamboo.
I tore apart my Jeffrey 122s the other day, and miss them so. I've been looking at the Cease and Desist as a replacement.
It has similar dimensions to the Jeffrey, and I'm a big fan of the 193.

Not even close to the same kind of ski. That being said. The K116 is better than the Caylor/Jeffery in that size ever was.

BG is more so my style, big mountain charger and all. But the Jeffrey's had the float and play factor.
Different than the BG obviously. I spent 4 years on BG's and the last 2 on K116. I honestly could own both. With the BG getting the nod when conditions are hovering near freezing, and tracked out.
I think the K116 still has the float, and playfulness of the Jeffery, but with a better overall design that is better in the crud.
Maybe in the future we will get a C&D a little slimmed down with a BG rocker profile. That would be hot.

wouldnt go that fat for a tour ski...considering 80 percent of our touring out here includes corn. youlle just be carrying weight.
get the regular BG with alpine bindings and a separate tech setup...steeple 108

yeah Ill probably not get either.. dont need to spend any more money. Might be going in a different direction for my quiver as well. I am constantly re-evaluating my quiver at times lol.

Pretty much... probably gonna try to find some used ONeP. Really cant justify spending full price for a tour set up since thats only a fraction of my days.
Whatever.. I have til next winter to figure it out.
