Expensive hobbies

mountain biking has cost me more than anything else, including ski passes skis ect. my bike retailed at 4500 new lmfao, it was worth more than my car. Neck brace wasn't cheap when I got it, helmet cost more than my ski setup. probably 2 ski setups.

i feel bad for my parents they footed the bill for that sport considering it was all from when i was 15-16

Riding bikes can be pretty spendy. For some reason little pieces of metal cost large sums of money.

I don't play anymore but paint ball was kinda ridiculously expensive as well.

I don't believe in cheap hobbies, although living in a big city with a large used market has helped.

- Skiing (not as much anymore)
- Cycling (mountain and road, but the n+1 rule is always lurking)
- Photography
- Coffee (espresso machine, grinder, multiple pour-overs, Aeropress, fresh beans)

This. Biking is such an expensive sport. Bikes priced north of $2k, pedals, shoes, helmets, clothing (full kit), etc. all above $100. It just disappears so quickly.

Don't get me started on maintenance. It's definitely one area where learning the simple stuff yourself pays off.

But I love it. Good thing is, bikes are usually purchased for the long term (unlike skis) so a $6000 bike over 6-10 years isn't unreasonable.

i get my shit from the pharmacy so im getting the highest level grade shit, i dont fuck with generic either

ill get like 60 xanax 2mgs for $1.5 with the good insurance i got, shout out to Aetna

Oh yeah...I just fly small foamies, and I've already blown 3k+ on it. Some of the guys I fly with fly large gas-turbine powered jets, that typically run $10,000+ per model.

Was into RC for a few years awhile ago but it got to expensive for my 13 year old self. it was fucking fun though. might start getting back into it in a couple years. other than that, skiing, paintball, fourwheelers, and my truck (which tends to drink most of my money in the form of gas).

Basically anything related to skiing is stupid expensive. Surfing in the summer doesn't help either, as you can basically ride any skis in any conditions, but if i try stuffing my ten foot log into an 8 ft keg i'll die. Hence the need for 4-5 $500 boards

Just a shitty old bighorn for a hack. It's pretty cheap but good fun not caring if you break or dent anything. Yea man drifting is an expensive sport, you definitely need some good sponsors

I really want to get into drift racing. Thinking an FC RX7 Turbo...I'm going to want coilovers, a hydro e brake, and angle mods at minimum. It will probably be 8-10k to get to that point.

Then about $50 in fees and $200-500 in tires per track day, plus gas, and maintenance costs.

As I get more into it, I will want a roll cage, race seats, tube front end, better tires, and more power.

Only problem is I live in Whistler, ski and bike the resort($2200/year in passes) ski backcountry, and ride trails out of the bike park.

I can only do so many things at once haha.

My long term plan is to take a couple years off mountain biking and move to Japan to get into drift racing, and all that pow. Luckily drift cars can be had for next to no money in Japan. Japan is very expensive, but so is Whistler, so I think I'll be used to it.

Screen printing, although only if you do it for personal use. Otherwise you can get some bank back, but still can be a tight margin especially with initial investments, like presses and flash dyers, ink, etc.
