So..... you weren't able to hit the jump that run. Big fucking deal. It looked like a goddamn clueless child. He could've really hurt that kid.

Honestly that's the type of shit that were I to see that in person I would beat that park rat's ass.

Like I get being irritated and possibly yelling at the kid and maybe then explaining why what he did was so wrong, but blatantly assaulting the kid is ridiculous.

This is fucking unacceptable. There are many reasons why the park skiing community is stigmatized by the general public to be a bunch of degenerates, and guys like this are a huge part of these reasons. You have every right to be berate the kid, but outright assaulting him and possibly injuring him is way over the line. Get your head right, it's just one line ruined.

Yeah you'll grow the fuck up one day and realize some 11 year old with no mal intent cutting off your precious filming line isn't exactly an assault worthy offense.

Not to mention, he was downhill of you, and it was obvious what he was trying to do. It's not like he veered into the jump line out of nowhere. What if it was LSM doing a nose butter off the takeoff, then nollieing into the tranny find on the side of the landing. Good riders and skiers do shit like that all the time. Bet you wouldn't lay hands on the person if they were a grown ass man.

It was cowardly, totally uncalled for, and I wish the kid's dad saw you do it and bounced your head off the snow and then called the cops.

I'm not even really interested in trying to justify the kid's actions because it wasn't smart, and definitely he should not be in the park doing that kind of shit, but a simple spray, and a heated explanation about how dangerous what he was doing is would've made a lot more of an impression than just smoking him.

You were not born with an inherent understanding of park etiquette and at some point you've undoubtedly side jumped or done something that obstructed someone else. You say so yourself "learn park etiquette or get out"....well how do you think people learn park etiquette? They have a gracious, mature, experienced park rider explain it to them and show them the ropes.

If that's you in the video, fuck you.

Holy shit it looks like some clueless 11 year old with no real spatial awareness. Every single young skier is like that. They make dumb fucking mistakes. You as a more experienced skier should know this, and should try to avoid it. Better yet, talk to the parents about the problem in a calm and collected manner. That way the parents may avoid the terrain park or keep their children on a tighter leash.

Pushing a small child out of the way is by far the biggest dick move I've ever seen. It achieves nothing for you, but will most likely scare the shit out of the child. Whoever this skier is in this video, you're a complete cunt. And a coward. Go fuck yourself, and anyone who supports said pushing. You can go fuck yourself too.

This is the skiing equivalent of getting cut off in traffic then pulling the person out of the car at the next red light to curb stomp them. Just cuss them out from a distance then bitch about it to your cat when you get home like the rest of us bro!

Being in college and trying to feel like my education in Forestry Management is paying off I decided to be highly skeptical of this clip. At first it has all the makings of a real video, gaper cutting off a mediocre park skier. But upon closer inspection, there are a few objections that I have within the clip.

1) The skier could've easily skied around the gaper on the takeoff. If you notice he immediately jumps to the conclusion of pushing him. While being filmed while skiing, you're trying to put together a line without wasting your filmers time and not wasting the perfect lighting. So sacrificing a lap to push some kid out of the way doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

2) Around 10 seconds into the clip notice the "gapers" boots. I'm not a boot specialist but they sure do look close to a spk style boot. With that said spk's are notorious for being a park boot, revealing that the "gaper" was probably just a stunt double.

3) Now notice the "gapers" head, he looks uphill for a millisecond right around the 6second mark. At this point in time, he's making sure he's in the correct position for the push.

Now with all this being said I'm still not 100% convinced the video is actually faked. Just a few items that I observed while watching it. To each their own.... Let's just hope this is actually fake.

That's what really irks me about kids who pull this shit (usually just a dramatic hands in the air motion)..if they wanted people to think they're sick they should be casually avoiding the person like a cone

Yeah, because shoving the kid down let him know what he did was wrong and how to better conform his actions. Makes complete sense. I dislike bullies and they quickly learn to dislike me.

I can understand that the kid had no business being there in the first place and being cut off by a 1st time skier is up there in frustration levels. Putting all that mental energy and prepping yourself for the worst; someone cuts you off.

That being said, that rider is a piece of shit on so many levels for pushing that kid.

Nothing wrong takeing a minute and explaining this might not be the best place for them .if you want to ski park go develop the necessary skill on the mountain and work your way up in smaller parks and so on. Don't need to shove a kid we're all out trying to have a good time. Be nice to our jerrys kindly tell them this isn't the best place for them for. Maybe they'll become park skiers in the future and pass respect and kindness down also.

Again... Shoving the kid down does little to nothing in the way of preventing the parade of horribles that you imagine are going to happen. This kid probably has no idea why he was pushed down or he might even think it was just an accident. You don't want the kid to be in this situation again because a serious injury might occur to him or others? EDUCATE HIM. No one is suggesting you play dad, you might find you need to educate him as well...

You want to ski park you need to accept this sort of thing happening. You want to shove him down and expect he learns from that? Really? How so? BTW, to answer another question, pushing the kid down amounts to a criminal battery by definition. Although it would be extremely unlikely that a DA would ever choose to prosecute under the circumstances, if that had been my kid, prosecution would be the least of tough guy's worries.

Honestly, best case scenario you should pull the kid aside and tell them what they did wrong. Most of the time they're going to think your the illest person ever and they will follow what you say to the letter.

Or you could waste a lap, shove them, get charges dropped on ya (looks like he's 22?) and overall just have a bad time.

would your opinion of the park skier change if he pushed the child and killed the child? See how dumb that sounds. The skier had ample time to react and not hit the jump. But instead he decided to be a dick.

I'm really not looking to pick a fight but you seem a little dense or you're being willfully ignorant. "What if the dude didn't see the kid... and died?" Then switch dude would be dead because accidents happen and you assume that risk when you engage in this type of activity. "What if he didn't shove the kid... and some other dude died?" Do you really think the kid would figure out from the fact that someone ran into him/shoved him down that he probably should cut across a jump line? So shoving a kid down is the best way to be certain that this type of incident doesn't happen again??

That is the position you advocated and I simply stated that I failed to see how that works. I then suggested that educating the kid might be more effective, to which you took offense. That being the case, please explain to me how shoving the kid down conveys the message more effectively than having a conversation with the kid? Failing that, maybe troll some other thread.

Your statement - "What if he didn't shove the kid... and some other dude died"? Implicit in your statement is that "shoving the kid" would make it less likely that "some other dude would die", otherwise, shoving the kid serves no purpose but to be a bully.
Since I fail to see how shoving the kid conveys any message that make it less likely to lead to "some other dude" dying, I see it as nothing more than being a bully. As such, I suggest that talking to the kid made more sense. You obviously disagree but have yet to explain how shoving the kid results in it being less likely that "some other dude dies".

As to your suggestion that "accidents happen" is a weak answer, I think of it more like gravity, you can ignore it but it's still there. If there is little you can do about something you either accept the possibilities or avoid those situations all together. Many years ago, I raced F2000 and Formula Atlantic cars. Sometimes there were accidents. sometimes people got hurt, sometimes people got killed. I have no reason to believe these racing incidents happened on purpose, they were always a tragic accident. Some drivers were better than others. I felt comfortable being wheel to wheel with certain drivers, others, not so much. The only way I knew to avoid the possible consequences was not to race. You pay your money and make your choices.

You accept the fact that the incident portrayed above could happen when you ski the mountain. Look at the terms and conditions of the resort you ski at. There is no "wall" separating the park/jump line and even if there was, a park skier could still inadvertently ski across the line for whatever reason. I never expected a car on a race track to be traveling in the opposite direction but it did happen on occasion when a driver had a big off and his momentum carried him across the track and on to another section. Sometime parts of a car would come off and become projectiles that no helmet could ever protect you from. It happens and you accept that possibility when the flag drops. When I fist started racing I was cautioned by another driver to maintain the racing line even if my car was having problems (it was) or move off the course all together. I guess he could have just run me off the track but for whatever reason, he decided to talk to me instead. Weird I know, but I appreciated it.

I'm not being "holier than thou" or "self righteous" as you suggest. Further, I didn't "build a straw man" and assign your name to it. You will probably want to become more familiar with the concept before you next use the term. What I did do was state what I thought was obvious and what you still fail to grasp. Knocking the kid down does nothing to change the possible outcomes and talking to him is far more likely to be effective. It called common sense.
