I was wondering if Dalbello kryptons would be a good fit for me? I'll try to make this as short as possible. My calf is a little higher set and my ankles are extremely narrow along with my heel. This year I decided to size down my boots after riding a "normal size". I got a pair of 25.5 Lange RX 130 lv, I usually ride 26.5. The boots have packed out a little and now i have no heel/ankle retention. This always seems to be an issue for me. I have moved my buckles over and tightened them to the last notch only on the cuff buckles not the lower 2. This seems to crush my lower shin region in all the wrong places while still not securing my ankles. When I flex my boots and lock into a turn my ankles move in my boot and when i hit something and occasionally get a little back on my skis my feet slide forward. This is really fucking annoying. I have been to the same experienced bootfitters probably 7 different times this year and they keep putting material in my boots and taking some out and moving it around. I ended up putting old intuition liners in my boots. They do take up a good amount of room and help a bit, but this is a temporary solution. Will Kryptons/lupos secure my ankles and heel solving my problem? Should I get them?
I have super narrow feet, skinny ankles and a higher set calf like yourself and suffered from a similar heel lift issue. I'm downsized to a 26.5 and have owned KR 2's and own a pair of this year's Lupos. Both boots certainly eliminated any heel-lift and I love the way each boot performs. They seem to be the only boot in which i can get that cast-like snuggness I think we all dream of. I would just be careful of calf/shin issues.
With the standard intuition, the top fold can cause a vertical pressure point down the side of the shin, especially with chicken legs. Brilliantly, there is a pretty significant nerve located in the same location. When the pressure from the fold aligns with this nerve, it can cause some pretty obnoxious pain. I've had this issue in both boots, but make the sacrifice for the sake of a static heel. I know someone with KR's who had the same issue and was able to fix it by replacing his wraps with Intuition Pro Tongue liners. I've been meaning to do the same, but don't yet have the disposable income. So yes, I think they could work out really well for you, but be aware of this issue and try em on. And of course, Reputable boot fitters can help you out big time if you're willing to spend the money.
