Realistically peak baggy was almost a decade ago dude. Maybe 2009?
Style's been diversifying since then and I'm going to guess it will continue to. More specific trends will come and go but I think the era of one blanket style is long over.

Bring back 2009

^Unnecessary, maybe its just me but seems like the guy's who really dug that style are still rocking it, yeah ill admit the majority of skiers especially kids just getting into are changing with times, and nothing wrong with that of course. But yeah there's still guys out there rocking big ass coats and and pants, I know my snowpant's are still like 5 times too big for me, and just last night I saw a homie wearing the matching xxxl saga gear. That shits never gonna die, cause jesus look and Henrik still, he was rocking a damn bandana doo-rag style in his 5 questions video. In fact in my digging up my old tall-t and thats going back in my layers.

Also the same year that Dumont released that slumdog Illionare edit. Oh god, we've come quite a ways, still though, good times.

That was straight fucking bangers man, no cringe necessary. I think the most spin to wins i saw was like a dub 12ish? this was when style played a huge factor in the sport, and they werent throwing tricks that are unnecessarily large

Excellent point my man, it is a truly dope edit that will stand the tests of time. Seriously made me bust out the tall-t for tonight, and it is definitely staying out. And again, dudes like Henrik are still keeping it real as fuck,still keeping the sport steezy as fuck. God dammit I love when Wallisch is just afterbang floating out of the church, too good.

Dun 12 was a large trick then...style plays the same if not larger role today. Today i bet that dub 12 would be oozing with style, didnt watch the video but im going to assume it was a dub 12 mute.

At my mountain most of the good people wear overalls with a white hoodie underneath. Its white or black on top and tan on bottom.

Skiing is way more diverse now than it was a decade ago or even in 2001 when I first found out about this site.

In 2001...Newschool culture was a mishmash of dudes rocking everything from Helly Hansen to Sessions to Rip Curl to O Neil. Even SMS mogul suits. Freeskiing was so new and just emerging so alot of people co-opted snowboard culture/style to differentiate the sport from skiing-which was seen as incredibly lame at the time.

Skiing had a major chip on its shoulder during this era

2003-2007 saw the rise of skier owned companies and the beginnings of a diversification of skiing culture/style. Guys like Anthony Boronowski, Blake Nyman introduced hesh style or the early variants of what we see the Bunch doing. You had C-Crew which was obviously influenced by urban and reggae dancehall culture. And then the Level 1 bro season which was Wallisch, Vanular, all those dudes etc.

2007-2011- Skiing becomes way more diverse with several different styles and segments within Freeskiing. Guys become dedidcated comp guys that never even sniff a major film segment (remember when in 2003 all the top comp guys put together mind blowing film segments ).

2011-Present we have reached the same level as snowboarding where there are several different crews/styles disciplines within "freeskiing" . Freeskiing is no longer a subset of skiing, it is skiing.

I predict within the next few years, the style will revert back to the loose and large style. its just too steezy. Definitely some people over do it, but when its done right... its righteous as hell!

The mountains I ski at most skiers who once wore the "big and tall" ski gear have left the baggy style because they aren't skiing the park 24/7 anymore. Honestly when your shredding back country, trees or just regular old groomers you start looking less like a dope ass pro skier and more like a clown.

That being said, in the park it looks sick to me at least!

It is for sure more diverse, but there are still plenty of dudes that rock the tall/baggy look.

Obviously Phil and Henrik lead the charge. But then Quinn Wolferman, Keegan K, Torin Yater Wallace, Noah Morrison, Matt Walker, Chris Laker, all the dudes in Mole Squad, Luka Meloni, Noah Albaladejo all come to mind.
