Atomic backland 102 vs. 109 vs other.

i have the 109s, they're great on groomers when you are carving, they have a relatively short turn radius for a ski of their size which i like.

they struggle a little when it gets choppy at speed, definitely get a bit of tip deflection if its abit more solid, i noticed this was less so when i moved the bindings forward to more freestyle orientated mount (about +4 of rec)

all in all i'd say they are a super fun versatile ski that is fun in all conditions but doesnt really excel at anything.

Obviously the 102 will be slightly quicker edge to edge but will have a little less float, have you got another pair of skis that these are going to compliment?

Yeah man. I have my factions Candide 1.0 as my park ski. Next year I may replace it with the arv 96. Im jutting looking for a 100mm plus all mountain ski that would be lively when it comes to groomers but enjoyable when the conditions are not the greatest.

i guess id go with the 109, especially if you're looking at the arv 96 at some point. the 109 still rips on hard pack, it will just be a little more chattery when you are really pushing it hard. if you are looking for something stiffer the fischer ranger 108 could be worth a look, or next season the nordica enforcer 110 will be a good bet.

I would echo JIbba on the 109, rather than the 102.

The 109 has a super fun shape and rocker profile that just makes it more versatile and enjoyable than the 102.
