Hair Drug Test coming up, HELP

So I've been absolutely freaking out. I'm a 21 y/o who just accepted his dream engineering internship. I just discovered that I have to take a hair follicle drug test prior to starting. I have no idea when the test is, could be next week, could be in 3 months. So heres the story:

I have never been a heavy smoker. I've probably smoked weed 20 times in my entire life. Recently, I haven't smoked in about 2 years. However, I had 2 hits off my buddies joint one night about 1.5 months ago. Didn't even get high. Should I be worried about this?

What I am more worried about, however, is the coke. I've done coke twice in my entire life. First time way about 8 months ago, second time was 2 bumps off the end of a knife about a month ago. Am I fucked?

Again, I am not a heavy drug user at all. Literally in the las 2 years I have had 2 hits off a joint and a couple bumps of coke. I am 5'10", good metabolism, probably 11% body fat, decently thick brown hair. Can you guys share some stores/advice you have for me? I'm losing sleep over this.

This is for coke. Apparently after 5 months of use coke is still able to show positive, you may be fucked man.

My buddys brother shaved all his hair off and they couldn't find any hair to test on him, so they failed him. Hahah I won't be doing that.

Do some research, find something legal that will give the test a positive no matter what. Most tests have something that will give them a false negative or positive.

When asked afterwards say "oh it was because of ______". There may be some medication that could give a false positive and get you off.

Also, just a theory but would bleaching your hair work at all? Might be worth a try.

What you need is a legitimate reason to shave your hair. As has been stated, shaving it all off can be grounds for failure and will seem very obvious. However, if you have a legitimate reason for shaving it all off, that is acceptable. Consider it a clean start, and stop doing drugs.

OK, so there are limited legitimate reasons for shaving your head. Essentially, you need to contract lice. A lot of lice. Then go to the doctor's office for an itchy head and get an official doctor's note stating serious lice infection. I did a google search for you, but could find nowhere to order live lice online. You may need to try the deep web, or else go to the local thrift shop, salvation army, etc, and try on every hat, every jacket. If all else fails, go to the local unemployment office and give a minority a hug.

It might be a gamble but if lice doesn't work out there is always saint baldricks.

My friends mom found all his pot stuff in his room and idk how long it was but they hair tested him. The doctor said there was traces of thc but not enough to say he failed, he got lucky though.

u dont have enough drugs in ur body to test positive on a drug test

go to cvs or walgreens and buy a drug test kit, u can buy that covers marijuanna and cocaine and other drugs, and they are very accurate

the drug test kit for weed is pretty cheap but that one only tests for weed, the drug kit that tests from cocaine, weed, etc. is around $30-50 bucks, but it is worth it

i had a psychiatrist that would drug test me b4 prescribing me ADHD and benzo's and i used those drug kits, and they r very very accurate

Do not shave your head obviously, but if you get a high and tight haircut as soon as you can, so it will fill in. You will not only look professional, and thus your employer will be impressed, but you'll also only be leaving the newest hair. It's not likely they'd find anything anyways, but I'd say better safe than sorry, and there's no harm in cleaning up.

I would be worried about the coke part. With the amount you smoked, I doubt that will show. Is there any way to get a urine test instead? Coke won't show in a urine test after a week, but it stays in your hair for months I'm pretty sure...

Hair tests have a large margin for error and are often used to detect prolonged extensive use. Someone with your BMI (similar to mine) should be fine. The hair wash products do not work, and they often use your body hair not the hair on your head. I would say you would be fine. Are you sure its not going to be a urine test? I'm on federal probation and they don't ever use hair tests in any circumstances.

Speculating here but maybe bleach your hair completely and then dye it back to its original color? Might kill everything in your hair?

This may help. As stated above, you need a legitimate reason to shave your head; become a neonazi, get cancer (try smoking 20 packs a day and sniffing all the chemicals you can find), get in a car accident and light your hair on fire so it seems like one of the injuries... There are many ways to do this. Good luck!

I just have to wonder what internship goes through the hassle and expense of hair testing. Are you working for the NSA? Are you not at liberty to speak about it? Why do they care so much, it's not a very smart decision economically speaking. God forbid they make you work for free or pay you 12 dollars an hour to do an 80k a year job if you've ever smoked pot in your life. Blasphemy!

Gym and water... don't loose sleep, what happens happens.

I bumped a few lines on the 4th of july this past summer and passed a drug screen like 2 weeks later so you should clear the screen on the coke. Pot usually takes around a month to clear so you seem to be alright there too.

I know engineering can be stressful but bro why the fuck are you doing drugs in the interim? If this really is your dream internship don't fuck around getting hooked on coke.

Volume, there is no volume for them to test. You would have to use more than that daily which is what they are trying to find/prevent. Everyone does something, they are looking for habitual abusers that will impact their company and trying to avoid liabilities and workers compensation claims for addiction.

Don't worry, if you are work out every day, sauna and sweat but it is not necessary.

Check out the Macujo Method. I've been researching it lately because I have a similar issue. Anyone try it? It's expensive as hell but if it works, it's worth it.

I wouldn't advise faking cancer. People usually take that stuff pretty seriously.

They're honestly the best test. Things like coke and meth don't test positive for long in a piss test. So they're great for testing for hard drugs. Really tough if you're just smoking some weed though.

Yah but you are supposed to debrief form each trip for almost a month, sometimes even a little more, I guess depends on the person. Otherwise you gain such a high tolerance it takes more tabs and can fuck you up pretty bad.

It's been 90 days. Now it really depends on two factors: how fast your hair grows and how much flow do you have.

If your hair is super long, cut it shorter to 1.5". You don't wanna be rocking hair from last July in your test. Hair on average grows about 0.5" per month, faster or slower for some people. Mine is probably closer to 1"/month. Consider that when deciding how short to cut it. Also if your hair is too short and they can't get enough, they'll have to take from elsewhere such as armpits, legs, or arms which grow MUCH slower and have a larger window of detection. That happened to my buddy cuz he regularly buzzes his head. They had to shave his legs and arms for hair haha.

They might make you do both urine and hair. Don't try to adulterate the test by overdilution of your urine with drinking lots of water. They will fail it. Also consider the first piss of the day is the most concentrated so be sure to pee before you leave the house. The first part of the stream is most concentrated too so piss in the toilet, then the test tube, then the rest in the toilet (they put dye in the toilet too but I'd rather take my chances with that method). If you take other drugs and try to say it caused a false positive (e.g. Ibuprofen for THC urine) they will just run a more specific test with a lower threshold for the THC metabolite. Trust me, if you're trying to pass a urine test, just do that; you don't want the more specific test. Also avoid drugs that cause a false positive so they don't have to use the more specific test.

A buddy of mine is head of HR for a large oil company and they have regular drug tests for employees. One of their leading engineers, high ranking, family man and all, not the type of person you picture snorting coke in the bathroom, failed a drug test. The guy was shocked and didn't understand how it could happen, swore on his life he wasn't doing any drugs, didn't make any sense to him. Rules are rules and all, he is suspended, huge mess, the guys keeps pleading for an appeal of the decision to leadership swearing this doesn't make sense, I don't remember the specifics but they ended up investigating and discovering that the positive was triggered because he had eaten a lot of poppy seed bread before the test.

During the investigation it was determined that the amount, while above the company threshold, was not consistent with a regular drug user, and the guy was reinstated. So it seems like companies can set different threshold as they please, and in that case at a level that would be even lower than for a regular user, which I find idiotic.

Lucky for that guy he was high ranking enough to get people to pay attention, someone lower level would have just been shown the door without a chance for an appeal.
