Hey NS Pink names!
So I'm hoping to do some writing about womens skiing and I wanted to ask you guys for some help.
I want to cover a lot of things that go on so if you have any feed back on the following please please comment so I can explore it and cover it in my article. I'd love to be able to quote some of you to so write well if you can!
I'm going to put down some sub topics and what I kind of think about them to get some ideas out there for you. Feel free to tell me I'm a complete idiot as well if I say something out of line. K awesome go! --
There is a never ending debate about womens skiing lagging behind mens:
Why do you think that is? -
For me, biologically we aren't as strong for sure. I know it takes my entire beings strength just to throw a 3. Do you think there is something physical going on?
I don't think it's because we are scared. I've hit bigger things than some of my guy friends. What do you think on this?
Ski media -
For me this a pretty big problem mostly. We always have star jumps and lattes and bull shit. It pisses me off a lot. For example a recent womens edit called for girls to submit footage and of the 6 categories 3 of them were
-Examples of Humor
-Best representation of friendship/camaraderie
-Best mountain dance
Shit like this really, really pisses me the fuck off. Sorry. Agressive..
I'm actually going to run a bit of a social experiment on this too for the article.
I also feel we don't have as many chick skier movies or film crews. Guys seem to be endless. I'd love to talk about how awesome Diamond Annies are and anyone else you think needs a mention. Check out Too Hard Squad, although they're snow baorders it's serious send and motivation. Please link me to your favourite womens segments or movies.
Womens ski days-
Can you please tell me about some good ones. Windells or Camp of champs? Have any of you been?
I'd like to talk about how a lot of womens ski days can be more absolute BS designed seemingly for soccer mums.
"meet us on the hill for a latte then ski around with ladies like you and get tips and tricks from *insert some rad skier chick here*. We'll finish the day with champagne and
NO
STOP.
then any other topics you think I should explore.
I've had a recent epiphany that sounds quite awful at first but maybe if you think about it you could agree. I'm going to share this with you now.
Skier chicks kind of hate each other.
WOAH.
I know. BUT when you see another chick on the hill that looks rad and you don't know her, mostly I find our first reaction is like "who the fuck is that" kind of a curious but get off my turf vibe. This lasts for like a millisecond.
Then I'm usually like
"okay I kind of want to ski with her that would be awesome. Skier chicks are sick".
I feel like there is kind of a weird barrier until we are introduced.
If I roll up to the park and there is a bunch of funny guys there slaying, I'm still intimidated cos obviously they're hot and stuff, but in terms of striking up a "Hey wanna cut a lap and have a sip of my beer?" conversation, it intimidates me less.
what are your thoughts on this?
I know it's a big thing to admit but I've spoken about it with other girls and they were like
"Ooohhhhhhhh holy shit I'm so like that"

IF YOU WERE TO READ A WOMENS SKIING ARTICLE, WHAT TOPICS DO YOU WANT COVERED
