HolteThe alcohol content percentage in Utah is too low.
eheathKids wanna party when they go to college, even moreso than ski, regardless of what they tell you. CU is know for partying, its in CO so its closer to skiing than anywhere on the east coast so they go for it. U of Utah is much better for actual skiing but people get scared off because they think they wont party enough, im okay with that, let 'em go to CO haha.
JWillySkeezHow is the party scene at the U, I'm going there this fall and IDK what to expect, not that it matters?
SconnieBecause they didn't do their research. Could be living in Teton village and making a profit like Sconnie, or you could be stuck in traffic in summit on your way to a not-so-steep mountain.
dan4060Curious as to what colleges are near Teton Village? There was a good school with high level academics and a good party scene 10 minutes from Teton Village I would think it would be popular. Skiing Jackson several days a week while in college would be sick.
SconnieNo school, just skiing and work. I can't afford that shit and I'm not falling for the student loan scam like the rest of the sheep millennials. Maybe I will try school in 4 years when I actually have money.
dan4060If you are a good student and you ever want to actually make some real money you should go to school. If you are a bad student and can't get into somewhere decent it might not be worth it.
.lenconI always wondered why kids went to Colorado too.
2 hours to go skiing now way.
Moved to Reno for schooling.
Google maps says 45 min to Squaw.
But lately it's been taking me 1.5 hrs. Traffic is always fun.
At least when you drive 2 hours up 1-70 you get Aspen and they're pretty tight.
Drive 1.5 hours to wind holds, fucked management, and more.
The perils. Alpine is such a fun mountain though.

chiefclulare you saying its 30 hours from denver to the mountains? on a bad day its like 2 hrs max..
youre just mad youre stuck on the east coast or somewhere and are seeing all these sweet edits dropped
eheathCopper is two hours, aspen is 3 +
SammyDubzHe's saying an hour and a half plus more you illiterate fuck
SconnieI have a 3.7 highschool GPA and got accepted to five different schools, still don't want to go. Because it's bullshit.

GryllzJudging from your grammar, it probably wouldn't be worth your while

snowpocalypseThat's an ignorant statement in its self. Don't get me wrong, I did the whole school thing. Got the paper for the home office. Made Mom and Dad proud and don't use it at all. I still have a great job that I love just in an entirely different field. I also have friends that are all smart great guys that didn't do the college thing. They all are doing great. Right out of HS went into an apprenticeship and were pulling 60k right out of school. Now with some year under their belt they own their own companies, homes, trucks, boats and oh ya...... they ski way more than any desk jockey.
You need to check you entitled attitude and realize that college is not for everyone and it definitely does not make you and less smart or intelligent for choosing a path that makes you happy.
gbalkmanSome people can pull that off, but being an entrepreneur and taking major financial risks isn't for everyone (especially when you don't have easy access to capital). Do you really think you gained nothing from your college experience? Even if you work in a completely unrelated field, I would hope that you gained some useful knowledge and discipline that impact your career. I wouldn't discourage everyone from going to college.
zeckgxActually, you can make equal or more money without college. It depends on how motivated you are. College is mostly a waste and an indroctnation center now, save for a few careers. Google no longer cares if you went to college they what to know how you think and what you can do.
SammyDubzHaha so ignorant
zeckgxHow so? I'm old and have had several careers. I have rich friends and poor friends I have experienced a lot. Care to explain or would you rather leave your response as a baseless twitter-Esk comment?
casualSure it's not for everyone, and there are some truly singular ski towns elsewhere that anyone would be lucky to call home, but Colorado is also home to some really great ski areas just slightly off the typical vail resorts loop. And even the vail resorts areas aren't these terrible evil places people make them out to be.
SammyDubzEh don't try to act so edgy
your comment saying college has no purpose besides a couple of careers is just completely wrong
mehregan15I grew up in Michigan (SE Michigan, where it is flat as shit) and had very little skiing around me. When I moved to Denver to go to DU, it was a dream. I had a handful of world class resorts within 2 hours?! That was literally heaven, and I did the I70 drive 2-3 days per week with no complaints.
Fast forward 5 years, I live in Park City at the base of the Canyons and can walk to the lifts. I was back in Denver this weekend to see some friends and I thought to myself "how did I handle this?!"
Everything is relative.
bgeskiorIt honestly sucks in colorado. I have gone from skiing 60ish days in a 4 month season in the midwest to about 20 days in a 7-8 month long season. The drive is terrible and I would rather ride a midwest rope tow park than A51. Utah seems sick though
