Nikon Replacement

So, if you had to choose one Nikon camera, and already had glass for it, what would you choose and why? I say this because I'm due for an upgrade. I have learned technique through a Nikon d5300 and have invested in some nice glass too. I mainly shoot sports, but occasionally shoot people (weddings, portraits, etc.), and I wanted your opinions! I would be willing to spend up to $3,000 on a body.

Definitely go D500. It's a killer camera that's great for pretty much everything and for like $2500 it's a great price for what you get

I was definitely looking at that! Though, I was also considering a full frame. For about the same price, is the d810 worth checking out too?

If you mainly shoot sports not really, I did it for a year and the d810 is an amazing camera but the burst isn't that great (even in dx mode), d500 also has 4k video right? the d810 is nice for cropping later on but yeah. Also sorta depends on what lenses you have and if they're full frame or not.

Yeah, the D500 shoots 4K and 1080 60 fps. Also I didn't realize it was only $1999 body only and i found a few factory refurb ones for around $1600. Id either get the body only, or a refurb and still have tons of money left over to spend on nice glass.

Currently, I have a 70-200mm 2.8 VR2, and I am looking into getting a 50mm 1.4 or a 35mm 1.4.
Not that I think it would, but would it also be worth looking further into Canon or another brand? Based on what I have looked at, the bodies Nikon makes seem superior, but the glass from Canon seems better.
