Coffee in the BC

So I'm sick of via crappy instant coffee when I go backpacking or camping. I was thinking of buying an aeropress because they are lightweight and pretty good for traveling like that. What do you guys think, any other ideas? Anyone use the aeropress out there and is it actually worth it?

I've never used that one but it looks like a French press and those do good work

I have an aeropress and love it. I take it with me every time I go camping. Coffee is delicious and theres no parts that might break. Took a glass french press car camping once and it shattered everywhere. Not a good time

i take my aeropress backpacking and camping, its great. i use a reusable metal filter instead of the stock paper filters too, shit lasts forever and i haven't been able to break it yet

Aeropress is awesome all of the time.
I rarely bring mine camping though. For camping I have a collapsible drip cone. It folds flat and fits right into my pot.

got an aeropress for christmas, what i don't like about it is that it only makes a little more than a mug for each filter, i drink lots of coffee. also you need a very solid place to 'press', it takes some force. it also uses a super specific filter.

i'm super lazy so i don't mind the via/instant coffee mixes. nice gift from mom, 6/10

I've got a French press for my jetboil...works alright!

Also I have a Stanley French press/thermos that works really good....it's my go to.

really...? I always imagined that French presses would be to heavy to carry. Are they really not bad? I may have to think about that! Especially since I love my french press for sure.

You could try out the jetboil one because it breaks down into separate peices...also...if you already are bringing your jetboil it adds pretty much nothing. I had to use a slightly coarser ground though.

Also the Stanley one is a little heavy...but you can also use the thermos for water or whatever when there is no coffee in it. This system works a little better while pressing. And it is built beefy...it's a Stanley.
