^ya, natural is backside, and unnatty is frontside. it doesnt matter as much in skiing because both sides are equally blind, its really only feel.

^^ it took me long chats with my snowboarder friends to distinguish. you see, for snow boarders, when the first 90 degrees they rotate they are facing towards the lip, is frontside, and thus harder. vice versa for backside. so i figured out that since unnatty is harder, and more akward, that it is frontside.

^not yet still gotta settle this. it only works on rails i guess cause it cant mean natural or unnatural because if you were sliding a rail unnatural and did an unnatural 270 off, it would still be frontside and it would look the same as someone who slides a rail natural and does a natty 270 off. frontside = regular backside = blindside

frontside 270 on a rail is you spinning so that when you throw the 270 the first 90 you would lnad straight, backside is you would land switch

For airs when taking off forwards or backwards it's Leftside or Rightside spinning. When on rails (either left foot forward or right foot forward - not applicable for 50-50s) we can use frontside or backside because it actually means something (blindside becomes backside).
That's my take on things and I think it makes sense.

I think it only works when hitting a rail from the side, because thats the only time someting becomes a blindside spin or frontside spin.
But if you hit the rail straight on there so blind anything.

I think we shouldnt beat up our selves to describe something with a name thats used in snowboarding,but is it works for us then we should use it, because its universal and that way someone from another sport can identify with what you are saying.

there is backside on rails...its when lets say you hit a c that curves to tthe right. if you do it rightfoot forward its frontside and if you do it left its backside. on rails if you 270 out to your left with right foot forward then its blindside not backside

okay it doesnt need too be that hard....
on a rail, blindside or bs... switch up toward the rail. frontside or fs switch up facing the front or the rest of the rail...
on jumps, there is switch or cab for bacwards. and left side or right side. you should be able to spin both ways so NO unatural or natural because everybody is different, some people spin to the right naturally. so it would be switch cork rightside 5. or cab leftside seven....

Frontside/backside onto a rail works if the jump isn't directly in front. IE: proper urban set ups, or good park rails.
Also works with switchups, and spins out of rails.
Also works with hips.

I just think of switch as riding backwards, fakie as landing backwards, natural as my easier way to spin, and unnatural as my harder way to spin. As far as 270's out, it's either uphill or downhill, none of this backside or frontside crap that is already confusing enough in snowboarding.
