Crashing

Why can you see skiers in edits keep crashing big and they just walk away like nothing happened? While I feel like dying and going to a hospital after a failed 540 attempt?

You learn to fall correctly / make it less painful over time. They are just experienced. They also have a huge pain tolerance since they fall so much.

Yeah there's a sort of strategy to falling and not getting hurt other than some bruises or whatever. Also pros are pretty much superhuman when it comes to their ability to shrug off pain and still try to hit a feature.

As you get better and learn to visualize tricks and not just huck and pray then falls get less painfull. It's almost like you learn to fall.

just fall like jello - and pull your arms into your chest. Dont try to catch yourself and make sure to try to pick your feet up so your edges dont catch as your sliding down and jam you up more.

when i eat shit super hard im usually amazed on how i didnt get hurt.

pretty sure gymnastics as a kid taught me how to fall and not hurt myself tho
