Possible solution to broken ski brakes

I don't know how this would work, but is it possible to 3d print a ski brake? I feel like you could reuse the springs inside the broken brake and then print and assemble a new brake with the remaining old parts. Just a thought to throw out there since 3d printing is cheap and paying a ton of money for brakes sucks really hard. 3d printers are becoming available enough to the point where you can find somebody and pay them for the materials to print it.

I mean, it is probably possible. Its just a question of durability however. Of course, you can print parts and attach them and yes they will be cheaper but the quality of them is something to be determined based on testing and stuff of the sort. If someone here on NS is able to do it, I'd gladly test out some 3D printed brakes...

They make metal filament so id assume you could make it durable.

3D printing is not cheap when compared to injection molding. 3D printing and additive manufacturing is still very much in its infancy when you look at it. Its growing rapidly but is still not common/cheap on a mass production scale (couple hundred thousand to a couple million)
