Volkl Kink thoughts

1850 grams for the 179cm which is about the middle for its width range. I've had 2 pairs of Volkl Walls which is the stiffer, full chamber and symmetrical park ski from Volkl. Found the 185cm Wall was solid feeling without being heavy.

The directional Kink is softer all around but not a noodle. It's stiffer in the chambered middle section for great pop and edge hold with softer, playful tip/tails that are rockered for easier turning and catch free spins.

I think they make a great all mountain ski that is playful in the park.

truth. i had a pair a few years ago and they were great, except in anything more than 3" of new snow... too skinny. but groomers and park stuff they were great

I can't speak for the Kink, but I currently own Volkl Ledges and I'm pretty pleased with them. They're 10x softer than I thought they were going to be, and they've held up very well so far.

I have the ledges and the durability is terrible. This is my first season hitting rails every day and I already have like 5 edge cracks. They also have an extruded base so they don't hold wax at all. Volkl claims its sintered but I did my research and it is extruded. My two friends who had ledges got 1 season out of them and one is on his 3rd season of volkl walls. Idk if volkl has changed anything in the last year or two but they do not hold up. They are very very soft and light weight though. I wish volkl would post what kind of materials like bases and edges are in every ski.
