TaranItUpAnyone can post videos/photos or write your own news articles. If your content is good it will start to gain traction and be seen by a larger audience. In order to be considered for producing content on events or other NS gigs, I'm sure you have to have a pretty high reputation for good and consistent content.
Mr.BishopNailed it!
Basically we look at the system, and the people who gain lots of Karma in the respective content area (Journalist, Photographer, Producer) start to bubble up on our radar. We look at the specific skills, start to offer support and give pointers. From there if you're doing well, we'll also highlight your pieces so they get more traction - whether that is boosting on social or featuring at the top of the homepage.
Do enough of that, and we pick from this pool to begin writing for us - whether that is the occasional blog piece, Event coverage, Interviews or trip stories.
The system is really what you decide to make of it.
Zennansounds sick! Thanks my man! I appreciate the information.
Mr.BishopCurious - what kind of content you looking to create?
ZennanI have a huge passion for gear and the way it's created and how it's created. Basically I am thinking writing about gear, how it's created and why it is created the way it is. However, more in depth than the general posts about how skis are made, as well as giving information what makes a ski do what it does. Generally, posts about gear, which is my main passion!
Mr.BishopSick!
Yeah give it a shot for sure. We're going to be looking for more gear writers as our whole gear content program expands too.
Do you have any specific expertise in gear, or are you just super passionate about it?

ZennanReally the only expertise I do have is that I worked in a ski shop for a bit, and I am currently working on building and developing skis of my own with my cousin testing and trying out random new things that in theory would be sick but in reality just would be so impossible to build haha. But overall it is proving to take a whole lot more time than I have to spend being in college as well! That stuff and ya, just the passion! But, I do love to hear that NS is expanding in general because this is where it's at!
milk_manThat's awesome dude I would love to see some stuff from you
