Want to start dropping cliffs, any tips?

I'm going to be at Sunshine Village this weekend, and I'd like to learn how to drop cliffs (besides just hucking it). Does anyone have some suggestions, and does anyone know some smaller ones to practice on at Sunshine? I'd like to have some idea of what I'm doing before I splatter myself on saturday.

Start small, have a spotter/make sure the landing is clear

Start with something small enough that you will not die when you totally biff the landing.

Do you guys know some smaller cliffs to get started on at sunshine? The only ones I really know about is at the top of wawa and the cliff line skiers right off of standish express

much like in the park, a proper pop sets you up for a good send
shoulders squared, weight centered, and engage your core. also, don't be afraid to eat it. that's half the fun of cliff drops anyway

Generally speaking speed is you friend it makes the compression a little softer in my opinion. Spot your landing and stay pretty centred otherwise you can backslap or go over the bars. Other than that it's pretty well learn as you go different cliffs require different approaches. And dropping into an open area is definitely a better place to start than dropping stuff in the woods much smaller room for error if you are sending something close to trees.

Don't be too forward when you land if it's soft. Shitwhipping into a tree or rock sucks.

Take a run and spot landing before sending unless its first tracks, in that case have a friend spot but always know what kind of landing it is or you could land in shit/flat. Dont stick your ass out, dont lean back, shin pressure and pop hard. most landings are gonna be like the park so prepare for some impact. Besides that just send it and have fun, i love sunshine for fucking around and finding side hits and turning them huge. Theres a guy who made a video on youtube of all the big cliffs you cna hit with good snow including the hotel drops, just search around.
