kamesjellyThis was taken from another website as a heads up.
It's a fair question.
A lot of women are concerned that sexual assault and misogyny are being normalized. The tapes with Trump bragging about his ability to sexually assault women is concerning, especially when the public seemed to not care about it enough to rule him out as the leader of our country. Turns out sexual assault is a serious issue with a lot of silent victims who prefer to not reward people who brag about their abuses, because that would make it normal.
Trump and the GOP has also made one of their first order of business items to be to remove funding from Planned Parenthood. This is an organization that greatly benefits women, primarily in contraceptives, education, and preventative diagnosis. This organization especially helps the poor who may not be able to afford other clinics.
Pence has also made remarks about how maybe Roe v Wade should be overturned, and states should decide. Whatever your opinion on abortion may be, this is a path towards stripping women of their rights.
At worst, this was a cathartic event for like minded people to join together and realize that they aren't alone. What does that harm?
VinnieFI hope a lot of them realize they're protesting democracy. Protesting certain policies or his racist and sexist views is fine, but those protesting the fact that he got elected (which seems to be most protesters) are dumb.

milk_manI think they're hoping that this will be a change from a democracy to a mob rule type government. Even though this was a peaceful protest, many haven't been. They don't want to vote because social media and figureheads say that your vote doesn't matter, so instead they do things that don't change much in a democracy.
eheathThey don't actually change anything, but it starts a conversation about the issues that will ultimately contribute to change in the future.
CampeadorThose on the far-Left never miss an opportunity to show how classy and "non-violent" they are.
How much garbage have they left in the streets so far? How many millions in damage?
cornholioamerica will get a 2nd president for these people, since they are unwilling to accept trump #notmypresident
kamesjellyMillions in damage?
McNocheWhat's it like going through life with a vagina
eheathClearly a protest like this won't change anything, it will just start a conversation and thats all that needs to be done. The same shit happened with occupy wallstreet and black lives matter movements. They don't actually change anything, but it starts a conversation about the issues that will ultimately contribute to change in the future.
CampeadorThe Left desperately gasping for air as their dreams of globalism (and the shadow caliphate) slip from their grasp.
californiagrown\why let facts get in the way of your opinion?
CampeadorFor those with more than half a brain, we care more about who can best run the country, it's not a role model competition.
CampeadorSo you're saying that you don't have any real goals, you're just venting about being upset that Trump hasn't talked to women nicely enough for you.
For those with more than half a brain, we care more about who can best run the country, it's not a role model competition.
robbinJAHoodAs an 18 year old girl, I know it's horrifying to hear a man say to me the kind of things that Trump says about and to women.
californiagrownBragging about comitting sexual assault...So hawt right now.
For those with more than half a brain, we care about improving societal conditions for all Americans. This country isn't an LLC.
CampeadorRight, the same way members of the Left "caring about improving societal conditions" have been working wonders in Western Europe.
If that's any sort of crystal ball, now is the time more than ever to fight back against folks like you. Your track record is abysmal.
onenerdykidI don't know about that... there are for sure lots of people who are emboldened by Trump, by what he says, by how he acts. People look to him as a leader and will follow him and act like him. In that regard, he is very much in the position as a role model. The leader of our country should be a role model we ought to follow. I don't think who can best run our country is a separate issue from being a role model.
californiagrown"Folks like [me]"?
What is my track record? And what do I believe? I'd be willing to bet you don't know... Largely cause you've never asked haha.
But hey, don't respond to what I said, just grab a topic from left field and assign me negative characteristics :)
CampeadorWell, I do know your sympathies for Islam run quite deep, in that you consider it hardly different from any other religion.
The track record of folks that go around trying to "improve societal conditions" through left-wing policies. By and large, your track record isn't that great.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
californiagrownThe civil rights movement, terrible. Social security and govt subsidized healthcare, awful. Public schools, worst idea ever!
We can't judge people based on the content of their character instead of religon or gender or whomever they like to fuck? That's too bad you feel that way.

CampeadorNo one is emboldened to sexually assault women because of Donald Trump, that is absurd.
CampeadorBankrupting the country, having black people be worse off economically than in the civil rights era, insolvent social security, broke medicare, a failing public school system.
Again, the intentions are good. In practice, you've been failing for a long time now.
CampeadorI noticed you didn't say race, which is interesting. I guess with all the SJW rhetoric that has become the new platform for the Left, you've kind of thrown that one out the window.
“My job is to shut other white people down when they want to interrupt. My job is to shut other white people down when they want to say, oh, no, I’m not prejudiced. I’m a Democrat. I’m accepting.’ My job is to make sure that they get that they have privilege.”
- Idaho Democratic Party Executive Director and DNC Chair candidate Sally Boynton Brown, January 2017
CampeadorNo one is emboldened to sexually assault women because of Donald Trump, that is absurd.
Now, taken a cue from Trump in regards to a realistic perspective on Islam, that may be the case, which is a good thing.
It matters not how good of a "role model" the leader is if he or she hasn't got a clue how to run the country properly.
Now in regards to emboldening sexual assault and rape, it's actually the Left that is guilty of this, through very lenient sentencing (in the few times they even convict) and apologism for "refugee" rapists who are simply "adjusting to the culture".
It's this same left-wing illness that leads judges in Austria to let off child rapists. You want to talk about emboldening, well that's pretty damn emboldening wouldn't you say?
CampeadorThe road to hell is paved with good intentions.
eheathI don't think anyone is saying that, but the fact we KNOW Trump sexually assulted women and people still decided to vote for him is a huge problem. If that happened to a Professional athelte he'd get suspended for a year and be looked down upon. Hell if a normal person did that they would get looked down on.
Sexual assult is a very real problem and Trump getting elected basically said "yeah i made a mistake but its okay sexual assult isnt that big of a deal" which is just appaling to me.
saskskierI agree with this.
That said, what percentage of the women protesting also read/watched 50 Shades of Grey, a book/movie that definitely promote violence against women? Isn't the trailer for the second the most watched trailer of all time or something like that? How many watch the Bachelor, a show about a dude hooking up with multiple women at the same time and thinking this is the way to find love? How many watch Scandal, a tv show about a president who is actively cheating on his wife?
Is there not a ton of hypocrisy in criticizing the leader of a nation for a particular behaviour when it's citizens actively participate and support the consumption of media that promotes the very thing they are criticizing him for?
eheathYou just compared fiction to real life, but I understand what you are saying. Like I said, sexual assault is huge problem.
saskskierI absolutely agree and am not condoning sexual assault at all. I'm just saying there is a level of hypocrisy there.
It's like saying you shouldn't watch porn because it objectifies and promotes violence against women along with perpetuating human trafficking, but then going home and watching porn.

CampeadorHow do you "KNOW", exactly? Even in his recording he crudely talks how they let him do it. Few people were swayed by the left-wing media's made-up narrative. Perhaps if they had given him fair coverage before, more would have been swayed.
I'm sure you're going to talk about those women who came forth very conveniently only a month before the election, just about all of them were proven to be liars.
You call sexual assault a huge problem, yet your positions suggest otherwise.
You get upset when I talk poorly about the people who engage in sexual assault in the largest numbers, Muslim men, and the religion that actively promotes sexual assault, Islam.
You also had no problem in supporting a woman (even tacitly) who has a husband who was (and probably continues to be) an actual sexual predator.
Few people can fit that much cognitive dissonance into one frame, but you're a special case.
