Finally putting together EC Rv bucket list trip. We're only doing three nights (we all have young kids) but nonetheless its a trip we have been wanting to do for quite sometime. The four of us are 38 and older, just looking for some input on parking lots at Jay, Stowe and MRG. Anyone have any experiences with those parking lots, campgrounds etxc.. Pretty pumped!!
I used to sleep in the Subaru in Jay's parking lot. But that was a whole different Jay era. I sense that they'd frown on it now. But at all 3 places just go for it. Either park in their lots to park in a nearby shopping center lot. Worst case they kick you out and you drive somewhere else. That's the whole point of an RV....pick up and go.
FWIW: Walmart allows RV camping in their parking lots. I'm sure this isn't the camping experience you had in mind but at least it's a legit place to park. Near Jay there is a WM in Derby/Newport. There aren't any near Stowe or MRG.
Jay has 3 main parking lots, the one on stateside is quieter but smaller and an rv might stick out. Theres also a lot in front of the pump house on main base side which is large but has a decent amount of traffic with all the hotel guests and shuttles. Also on main base side if you drive past the ice rink is a parking garage with 3 or 4 levels and free parking but idk what the height limit is.
Change of plans were not heading as far North. At the moment we're going to Smuggs, MRG and Bush. Any insight on their parking lots or spots near mountain?
