Replying to Early Taper Overkill!
It seems like almost every major ski brand is on the hype train for early taper designs. I know they hook less and reduce weight, but the design seriously compromises a skis ability to turn. I know "good form" or "style" is subjective but to me skiing is fun when a ski grips from the tip and arcs through the the turn. Early taper skis just kind of half ass turn and when you load the tips, they don't respond well. It seems to me that early taper skis turn from the middle, which makes people lazy and ski in the back seat. Anyways, besides a handful of brands, its hard to find skis these days without crazy taper which to me seems like this design trend has gone overkill. What do you all think?
