I feel like a number of pro skiers spend more time on their sleds and these throw back snow surfers than they do on skis.

All the cool kids are doing it.

True story.

Now, try and get a warranty on a ski product after you say something about sled skiing .. and all of the sudden the shop starts talking like you are doing something crazy that some how negates the warranty.

The reality of it is that sledding is very fun. You can sled in the meadows if avy conditions are high, you can sled around if you can't find good shit to ski, It can take a long time to get to something worthy of skiing. Sled skiing is also a ton of work..... even if you're set up properly.

Lot's of people that get a sled to get skiing turn into sledders. If these pros were regular joes they probably would be straight sledders as well.

And then you don't need to be riding a sled all day in ski boots. That's the real win!

Have you ever tried putting putting your ski boots in a rafting bag and strapping them to your tunnel to get to areas? its a life changer lol. Use their ski boot liners inside they're regular boots instead of the regular liners so that they're warm when they put on their ski boots. I find that the exchanger keeps the boots nice and warm so it's easy to swap them out when it's time to ski.

Modern touring boots have a a fantastic range of motion and excellent soles ... I know people who try that program, it seems cold and awkward.

If you are skiing in alpine boots or just suck at sledding, I Can see how that may be an attractive option ;)

I'm trying to figure out a way to make a heated boot bag for my ski boots. Either that or I just gotta suck it up, buy a noboard, and give in to my urges.

I think it works good for some, Personally I can put my boots on when they're cold without too much problem. Some friends struggle. It's great when you find your slopes are too dangerous to ski and you end up sledding all day, also if you have a gnarly sled ride into the zone it can be scary in ski boots. I even pack a small carpet with me to stand on when I swap out haha.

I have seen people run a rad hose through their sled bag before, worked good on the apex's that have the hose sticking out at the back of the tunnel. I find if the sled is getting a good workout and the boots are on the bottom of the bag it warms them good, always volunteer to double your sled up first haha.

There's a good reason for this. I'll bring my ski gear in case I find something to ski. But ghost riding the whip for pow surf laps is the most fun you can have in the mountains without having to deal wit a bunch of gear. The other thing is that mellow terrain becomes super fun with no bindings. When the avi danger is up you can take it easy on the surf board. A pair of Verts snow shoes is the best tool for walking around in the snow when you want to get higher up after the ghost ride. Ski boots go in a boot bag on the tunnel with a few boot warmer packs so they're not frozen if you end up using them.

ive seen older ski doos with electric plug ins and im pretty sure cfr had a heated bag.

but seriously, fuck ski boots, noboards where its at while sledding.
