Hey whats up ns, I was looking into buying a gimbal for my Panasonic GH3. I was thinking about getting the AFI 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal and was looking for some feedback from anyone whose had one before. Or if there is a better gimbal that isn't way higher in price. The gimbal I want has to be easy to use because me and maybe 3-4 other people will be filming with it. Hit me up with what you guys think I should get.
Nebula 4000 is a sick handheld gimbal similar to what you posted. Depends on your payload. i think they run around 400-500?
glidecam is honestly going to be a better bet for you if you plan on passing a camera around. no electronics in case you or one of your buddies wads it and your camera goes flying. Depending on which one you get it will be able to eventually handle more weight if you plan on adding a mic, monitor etc in the future. i would go with the HD-2000.
These gimbals are cool and work well with the GH series cause theyre so small, i've never used one so I'm not sure how well it would work for skiing. My biggest concern is that the gimbal is trying to keep the camera completely still, so if you need to adjust the position of the camera (which happens basically every time you're filming skiing) the gimbal usually has a joystick or something to adjust, but its pretty abrupt. Some are built to automatically adjust when you move, but its pretty slow so that its not abrupt. Either way, both are unreliable in a quick situation.
Glidecams are the best stabilization tool for skiing IMO id suggest looking into one as well.
