What should my DIN be?

Your din setting should be what the guys in the shop tell you it should be based on a lot of different things. Take your gear in and talk to them about what is happening.

not great advice tbh. There are liability issues with the shop setting your din past recommended, so they wont do it. the recommended din doesn't take park skiing forces into account, so you will need a higher din than normal. Im not going to recommend a specific din, but a good way to play it safe is bump up all your dins a half number after every unnecessary ejection. Don't go too high on this though.

I dunno. I think a good shop can accommodate you within reason if they have all the facts. As you said though, my dins are set 1 higher than the recommended and that was done by them after talking to them.

Based on your weight and skill I would say set them to 5 or 6

I agree that you should NOT set your DINs based on what the guys in the shop say. Every time I get bindings mounted the max they can set my DIN to is like 6 or 7. I am 6' 165lbs and currently run my DINs at 9.5. Obviously yours should be much lower... Like the guy above said, the people in the shop will only go so high and that point is usually still way too low for very aggressive skiers.

This does not mean be irresponsible and just crank them up... Very unsafe to do this. You are young and light so you should not have crazy high DINs. If your skis are coming off when they shouldn't you should tighten your DINs. Eventually they will stop falling off unless they really need to.

I just cranked mine up by 1/2 every time I ejected when I shouldn't have. Been at 9.5 for a while and my skis have only come off a handful of times. When they do they are situations when I definitely wanted my skis to eject. Nothing worse than your skis popping off on rails or jumps when you don't want them to.

Also, take my advice with caution... just because slowly ramping up my DINs worked for me does not mean it is the best solution. Don't want you to get hurt.

Having a good tech work with you is a great start and the safest option. Just be wary that even then your DINs might not be where you want them. If this is the case then you might want to start cranking them up yourself.

To me the best test of where my DINs are at is me skiing and when my skis fall off or not. Not some guy in a shop testing my skis with a machine.

I have to disagree because I have my dins set from 10-12 depending on the binding which is atleast 6+ what the shop would max me out in. They would never let my dins stay that high no matter what shop I go to (minus one).
