Shoey-SkiPut your poles on the right way, stick your hand up through the bottom of strap then grand the pole through the middle, you know you are doing it right when if you drop it the pole should fall, if you drop it and it stays on your thumb then you are doing it wrong
skiitsbetterI've torn thumb ligaments 2x in 3 years, both times ended up in a cast for 6 weeks, and just skied with the cast. Both times, I was wearing pole straps properly as described by Shoey-Ski. I stopped skiing with pole straps (10 years ago) and haven't injured it since knock on wood. Thumbs aren't something to mess around with. They are one of human's main evolutionary advantages.
