Mounting bindings at home

Have any of you done this? I was thinking about doing this. The closest place that mounts is a shop at Seven springs. They charge 90 bucks to mount (just drilling holes and then screwing in a couple screws, yes, for 90 bucks).Is it safe to do? Would I have any issues in the future if I did it by myself? Drop your thoughts below.

try to find a templet online of your binding and make sure they line up, use the template to drill thru the ski. its very doable if your willing to risk it, but i think you'll be ight. best of luck my dude

Thanks. I might use a 2 by 4 to make sure I'm drilling straight down

take your time deff not rocket science just also make sure your heel piece is in the center of it adjustment range... that way if youre a little off either way you can adjust accordingly.. also either buy a drill bit that will only drill as deep as you need or put electrical tape as a depth stopper.. elmers wood glue a dot in each hole good luck

Measure twice, drill once. Use wood glue as lock-tite on the screws, and mark your bit for how deep you want to drill by comparing to the screw. Make sure to not over torque your screws and strip it, start with a drill then finish with hand tighten if your lazy (like me).

Don't measure at all just drill that fucker wherever you think is necessary

Just mounted a pair at home last night. Its not to hard as long as you have some idea of what you're doing.

I mounted my skis last season primarily by eyeballing them. I would not recommend just eyeballing because they aren't perfectly even (big surprise), but it was easy and I am still skiing them today.

Could be pretty risky... If you mess up, their goes your 700 dollar ski. I would pay someone else to do it. Unless you know what your doing and have been practicing on older skis.
