Yeah, Jon got robbed in both slopestyle and pipe! Now I know a million kids are gonna be like you’re a fool, fucker, faggot, etc. But let me lay it out for you, starting with slope style.

270 on
Cork 7 reverse tail
Unnatural cork 5
Sw cork 7 tip grab
Sw unnatural cork 7 nose grab
Sw cork 10 tail
Tanner

Sw cork 10 saftey/tail
Alright, so Tanner does have Jon beat technically. But not by a whole lot. It’s all in the syle. Tanner has nice style, his sw cork 10 was dooope. But it wasn’t as nice as Jon’s, and Jon completely stuck his, while Tanner threw his hand down. Just look at the grabs. Jon spun unnatural cork 7 with a dope nose grab. When Tanner went sw unnat cork 7, he just had a safety. But look at that trick, they both stick it, but Jon just completely owns it, like its nothing to him. So basically it’s a style breakdown, and style is really a matter of opion, so I can understand if you guys disagree with me on this one. But if I were a judge, I would have scored Jon’s run over tanners. It’s just so smooth.
Pipe!
Pipe Runs
Jon
Cork 5 Critical
Unnatural flair reverse tail
Cork 5 Saftey
Unnatural Cork 5 Critical
Cork 9 tail
Unnatural cork 7 critical
Tanner
Cork 5 japan ( I don’t think he got double grab on his silver run)
Straight air alley oop saftey
Cork 9 safety/tail
Unnatural Flair saftey
Cork 10 safety/tail
Jon spun on every hit ( if you count flairs as spinning) and he spun unnatural twice, Tanner didn’t even spin unnatural. There’s no comparison in the unnatural flairs. Jon’s was sick with the reverse tail. Technically, I’d rate Jon a big higher cause of his 2 unnatural tricks. Tanner probably went a little big. So on difficulty and amplitude they’re all equal. Again, it comes down to style, and Jon just had it on lock down. His run looked amazingly smooth, and for that I would have given him the edge over tanner. Don’t get me wrong, it was super close, and again it relies on opinion of style, but if I were a judge I woulve have had Jon over tanner.
Gangier and Dumont both totally deserved it; they threw down. And I think that if TJ hadn’t fallen, he could have put down a podium worth run with those sick cork 9 mutes, the huge cork 5’s, and the 10’s. He’s gonna win pipe next year.
