School, internships, travel, work? I'm planning on taking a year off to work/ski, but I'd like to hear about what you guys did after school and how it affected your future.
Being a HS senior is fun, but it is getting more and more stressful as graduation approaches. I got accepted to some schools, but I'm just not feeling ready.

doublecupA bodhisattva would not care, even if he received a medal from all the Bud- dhas proclaiming him the bravest bodhisattva in the entire universe; he would not care at all. You never read stories of the bodhisattvas receiving medals in the sacred writings. And
quite rightly so, because there is no need for them to prove anything. The bodhisattva's action is spontaneous, it is the open life, open communication which does not involve struggle or speed at all
Yea u ain't shit

Currently in that year..
Barely worked in the summer
Now work shitty part time with a potential park crew job coming soon or just a better job
Passed fall gen ed classes, might go back or just start somewhere new next year
Skiing as much as possible but its to damn cold and shitty lately
Not sure how itll affect my future really, once I have a well paying job things should hopefully just keep going but I just wanna be able to move my next fall.
Make sure you make the gap year worth it, make a lot of money, go ski sweet places etc. I guess Im kinda in a gap year now and aside from lots of skiing, life is boring. No more parties after football games and shit or anything, kinda sucks in a sense. Try and plan it out ahead of time too,
All I can say is make senior year as fun as possible, it was fun for me and so was all of HS but it couldve been a lot better.

I went directly to college due to my parents making that my choice. They wouldnt let me travel and go to school out in CO - and besides that I had no idea what college I wanted to go to, or even what I wanted to major in.
Ended up going to my local university which was 20 min from home - only place I applied to because I knew jack-shit about other colleges. Went in as undeclared and got lucky enough to find a major that seemed interesting to me by the end of freshmen year..
I'm in my senior year now, and I wish I had the time to take a year off after high school. It would have given me the time i needed to learn about schools, figure out a definite major idea, and grow up a bit and get in the head space i needed for college. I really was not prepared for my freshmen year and it showed a lot. And now i am paying for that with the struggle to get my GPA up again.
