Pretty much this, with the snow how it's been this year I've been skiing lines I've been looking at for 4-10 years it's been unreal, and most of the snow falls in spring where I live so it should just keep getting better

We're using a firehose but probably going to have to be new as you literally cannot find anywhere a hose wide enough for what we want used. But what we're doing is buying the firehose and cutting it (with a circular saw) to a length a bit longer than our press then using some L angle bars and sealant to close it off. Afterwards were using a drill with one of those circle cup things that cuts circles (I forgot what it's called sorry haha) to cut a perfect circle in the bladder to place a valve that we will then again seal off with sealant so we can use our air compressor to pump up the bladder!

If you have any other questions 100% feel free to ask! We will be doing a full post when we're completely done and built a few pairs and tested them successfully as well! It takes a while when your in engineering at college as well haha. But ya don't have to wait for the post you can just ask whenever!

Thanks man! Ya in my reading and "research" / just watching sick youtube videos of bosses making skis like Folsom Custom or ON3P that is what I tend to see every time unless they do a vacuum press which I personally don't believe works as well.

looooool nice choice! I like the renewable energy extremely interesting! -- I'm actually doing Industrial engineering, not the stereotypical engineering, but I do still get to take some more "engineery" classes along with the business side of things.

YES- hole saw... but ya know I may just do what you were saying with probably a drill bit and a drill press that I have access to... I was just thinking that a hole saw would be a bit more accurate for some reason? But ya thinking over it again just a drill bit will be good enough, especially with a drill press.

I actually am lucky enough to have access also to a CNC machine. The project last sumer was to learn a CAD software and just build a few crappy homemade pairs without a heated pneumatic press to see how I like it and the whole general process of building with the hope that someway I would have access to a CNC and amazingly I do! So I will be cutting out the sidecut and profiling the ski using that guy! There is a place next to my school called TechShop and my college gives me a free membership here and it has an insane array of machines and tools free to use including the CNC! But I do know that if I were looking to do something a bit more hands on without the big huge expensive machines, Iggy Skier has a post of how he router'ed the wood core.

I for sure will hit you up! Always good to get the perspective of anyone you can that you don't "technically" know.

I want to TRY atleast a flat/rodeo 5 this season. And also consistent rail tricks such as front swap, pretz 2 cus a couple of seasons ago I could do them easily but I gotta relearn that shit yo

IMO backies, flats, rodeos, or underflips..whichever one you havent done and seems most comfortable to you..people vary wildly on that opinion as you probably know

Mmm I think I wanna get into rodeos, they just have this clean flow about them that I appreciate. Plus it seems like a good off axis to start with after back flips since you can see see the ground almost throughout the entire spin.

I live like 30min from Woodward, I'll have plenty of time to learn it without ruining myself hopefully.

nice, that's great! that way youll know risk-free what you can put to your feet. when i learned flips i was convinced rodeos would be easiest but it turned out my body likes backies and undies way more so air bags are super useful in my mind

Thanks! I mean I ended up tearing my ACL doing backflips and that was after Woodward and landing them on roller skis on the BMX resi so nothing is guaranteed. I guess if everything was guaranteed without work, nobody would really have a good time.

I guess I'll just try all of them in the foam pit, see which ones stick first, work on those and come back for the rest!

great attitude-- and beyond a certain skill requirement, flips are all about your mentality. literally easier than 3s IMO, just seem scarier at first

True! I'm really trying to get over any little fears left over, my crash last year wasn't massive but it still sucked. Oh well, it's something I want to do so I'll make it work.

So if you see someone flailing around at either the Boreal or Squaw park, that's me! Feel free to get a good giggle out of it, I'm sure I will too!
