K2 hellbents in the Park?

I was just riding at park at my local mountain and I saw a guy riding k2 hellbents their, it seemed crazy at first but then it seemed kinda awesome! Anyone's thoughts on how these skis would be in a park?

obviously it aint everyone's cup of tea, but lots of people like the approach to the park it inspired

a big related thing was when andy mahre and pep fujas took their x games slopestyle run in 2....uh two thousand something and did floaty chiller stuff through the course. the footage was unattainable for some reason and it's become a thing people recurrently ask for

fat skis in the park are fun to surf around on and great for butters and surface swaps but i found them just too heavy to do anything technical with.

This was a popular style of riding a few years ago that was inspired by the Nimbus crew. I think Forster Meeks still hits rails on fat skis though.

When I rode hellbents I would take them through the park every now and then. They were super fun when it came to surface swaps on tubes and boxes, and buttering on the jump rollers was pretty fun, but unless it was super slushy they were pretty blower on any park jump bigger than 15'

I have ridden my hellbents in the park a lot. They are 194s and giant. Spinning on them is super fun because it's like you are riding on them as they are spinning, opposed to other park skis where you are spinning and the skis are kind of there.

I never get technical with them, like floaty 5s is the most I'll spin, and I'll just slide rails really basically on them, but they are fun to butter around and jib different things on, a bit of a different feeling and you really need to get the speed to push them and not force them because of their weight, you kinda need to pretend to add 100 lbs to your feet

I did it and loved it.

It's hard to get technical, but rockered pow skis in the park are super stable and buttery smooth...and also a really good way to tear an acl.

But still fun af 9/10 would recomend

People way over estimate the how hard it is to ride a wider ski in the park. I'm a pretty shitty park skier but I've recently been using my Candide 3.0s in my backyard setup and found there to be little difference using the to 2 on or off or backslide with them over my line chronics
