How long do you use your rock skis for?

Was wondering how long you guys use rock skis before risking it with nice ones. Just picked up a pair of Ripstick 96s and I'm going to marmot tomorrow, but I don't want to core shot them on day one.

My rock skis are my park skis. Line masterminds that are holding up so far but its only season 1 and im about 2 days of hard skiing in. I have bacons that i will never take on a rail or box or any bad conditions. then im getting on3p as my park skis next season and masterminds will be my rock skis until they die

I think my praxis MVPs have close to 200 days on them now. Probably 120 of those days I was hitting rails. The cores are absolutely shot, the tips started to delam, but not a single piece of edge missing. edge cracks under foot, but no actual breaks.

If the US/CAN exchange wasn't so bad I'd only ever buy Praxis. I used to pay $650 cad for them, now it would be around $1100...

My Fischer Guru's are my park skis, but I don't like skiing all mountain with them because they are center mounted. I picked up a pair of Head Monsters (which are terrifying to ski btw) for $40 that are full of P-Tex so I've been using those in the mountains.

I was just worried because Marmot only has a 50cm base right now, but I'm itching to try out these new ripsticks.

Last season I put about 120 days of hard park riding on my filthy rich's and my edge is completely gone for about 3 feet and have multiple other edge cracks but I'm just now making them my rock skis cuz I got a new pair of sticks.

I don't bother with rock skis. New terrain is always opening and new lines are always getting filled in enough to ski over the course of the season and so I'm just as likely to ski rocky terrain a few months in as I am on opening day.

I do ski in the Rockies which are always really rocky though.
