Replying to Ordering ON3P skis to canada

hey, sorry if this thread is in the wrong spot.
starting work in canada for the season and i'm looking to buy some ON3Ps. does anyone have any experience / know the best way to get ON3P skis (or any skis from the US) sent here?
Ive heard that couriers can charge you ridiculous fees when they rock up at your door with the package and if you don't pay they hold it at the border until you do?

was hoping i could get a pro deal in town but it seems like ON3P don't have any stockists in whistler...

I heard about a loophole involving traveling to a town a few hours west of vancouver that happens to be on both sides of the border, get them mailed to a PO box there and pick them up... seems pretty extreme and dodgy though especially for a large box.

any help is greatly appreciated. cheers
