Replying to Skiing and Working in Switzerland

I’m currently living in Zürich Switzerland, taking a gap year after high school, before I start college in Utah. My main passions are skiing and art. In Switzerland I have been spending time with family, building ice rinks and have done a bit of skiing in Zermatt, Engelberg and Davos.

I’m looking for a winter job in the mountains or an apartment to split with people in the mountains. If it was a job, ideally would leave time for work and skiing. But I do have experience working in a kitchen as a dishwasher. I would like to start working in the middle of December or the beginning of January, but I can be flexible.

A job that was 50-80%, afternoons or evenings, would be ideal as well. The jobs I have found only have one to two days off a week. I also can speak Swiss German really well and can speak decent High German.

Making decent money doesn’t matter as much to me as having time to ski, a place to stay in the mountains and people to ski with that have the same skiing ability as me. In America I did many IFSA freeride competitions.

I’m looking at different areas, but Engelberg, Andermatt or Laax would be great because they’re not that far from Zürich and I have heard are great for big mountain skiing. Your suggestions would be much appreciated if you have any.

I plan to start my Swiss Military training in March.
