tvonnyWhere are the best places to build pow jumps at Breck?
BarmskiBreck is tough, to be honest in all my years there the best results came out of the gate on ten by mustang, but if you want the best results, you are better off building on Loveland pass or just backcountry areas in the county in general. There is a space out that gate to build but landing areas are less than ideal, however, if it's soft enough you can still have fun.
Raz.mustang booter is always fun. you live in Breck op? I'm trying to build this winter off lift access shit just for giggles.
I've seen some stuff in orebucket on peak 7.
6 chair is the muhfuggin kickback
tvonnyno im going out there for the week of christmas though, hoping to make a dub jump. whats mustang booter?
Raz.its not a big jump by any means, just fun as tits. its on mustang in peak 10 at the bottom of a small "bowl." has potential to be sent if the landing isn't moguled out I guess
BarmskiYeah just be forewarned with building in bounds at breck, you CAN do it but if patrol rolls up they will most likely punish you in some way, especially if you have a shovel, like I said before , go out the gate of mustang, follow the traverse, and build a kicker gapping the traverse, its OB and as long as you enter through the designated gates, you can build and have no issues. The avi danger above you is non-existent. If landing is area is okay, but if its a good snow cycle it will be soft. Thought on the mustang jump: if its build far back enough, you can really send it. However, it is hit as it appears, you will land extremely flat and likely blow up. Also Southside of Peak 10 is not always ideal on low snow years as it is South Facing. Ore Bucker is a joke and theres too many trees. Below the Summit of Peak 9 there is a decent rollover for a large pow jump but it requires a 1 hour hike and you are in serious avi terrain from the start in run. Way out is an option but again it tends to get sun and your landings arent the best. The jump is usually built through trees. Breckenridge see a lot of traffic and the less obvious you make it, the better. Breck is not Alta though and its lack of snow and massive crowds are not condusive to building a "pow" jump. You are better off just sending the natural features which usually hit best when breck is at about 100 inches of natural snowfall. After that, things tend to get buried. Good luck and be careful not to land on anyone.
