Revision Messed Up

So, back in September I was looking around for a new pair of skis for this season. After hours of searching, someone recommended revision skis. They look sick so I got them for a sick deal during the pre-sale. There was only one slight issue, the skis ship date was "mid November" although that was kinda annoying I knew I wouldn't be skiing at all between now and that time. Fast foward almost 3 months and I still havent heard from them, so I sent them an email regarding the shipping. They said that they would contact me in the next week for an Update. They sent another email a few days later saying they ran into some issues during production. "Due to some quality inconsistencies, we made the decision to rebuild a good portion of our skis". At that time I was like "ok, well I would rather wait 2-3 more weeks for solid skis then get low-quality skis now". They also said they would send another email in about a week for a new ETA. I got the email this morning and they said the new shipping date would be THE FIRST WEEK OF JANUARY. Thats almost have way into the ski season. I'm disappointed because the skis looked so fun but theres no way im waiting that long.


But thats not all, they also gave me (and all other customers) a $100 coupon to there website. Sure I appreciate them going out of there way to do that because they definitely feel bad abut this whole situation, but $100 is not gonna keep me waiting around for another month and a half. So, what do you guys think. Are any of you guys in the same Boat as Me?
Could this issue possibly be the end of revision?

Sounds more like 4chan than Reddit. Reddit is a pretty tame place these days. Disclaimer: 4chan is weird as fuck and is not recommended.

TheSmokinLDude if we involve r/skiing on reddit people will probably shit on it bc those guys are your typical main stream riders. I lurk often and they’re not the same caliber as here (this isn’t hate, it’s just a statement) - however some guy claimed his old boss was the yellow jacket on Js new skis, so that should show some age.

If you really wanna do this, you’d need to take it to r/prorevenge or some page that actually has potential to get to the front page. It’s rare a ski post on r/skiing makes it past a few hundred votes. But what do i know, you can literally post this thing multiple times to get as much exposure as you can. Redditors are also very against doxing users, but if it’s the general public they’ll have a field day.


r/Skiing is hit or miss. A lot of mainstream jerry's over there, but there are a just as many people that know a thing or two about skiing and would be very interested in this. I think it would gain traction there if it was posted in the correct way. You're correct that it isn't the most popular subreddit in the world... though I did see them on the front page a while back when they posted the Wallisch backflip loop from Xgames.

r/prorevenge is defiantly the right place for this kind of thing... however, that community isn't trying to get revenge against others. It is just a place to share stories and what not about times when assholes got fucked over. If we somehow took Bill down, they would eat it up over there.

.MASSHOLE.It wouldn't make it on r/prorevenge unless we actually got his ass in trouble in court. Then it'd be a very good r/prorevenge story.

Until then, it's just a dead end. I don't know what subreddit would be good for this story tbh. I don't know how much more Reddit could do either. We know who he is, we know (roughly I believe) where he lives, and we know he's a piece of shit. We don't know motive and the only way to get the motive is for someone to befriend him and slowly pry it out.

im truly sorry that this story has gone how it has and that it seems to be at an unsatisfactory resolution at this point. but a responsible person should recognize that internet witch hunts are rarely a good thing and might involve some very unsavory stuff once faceless internet users get involved. just really not a good move at all imo

I mean, I don't want to include his kids in anything, which is why I said "Fair enough... I felt uncomfortable posting those for that very reason. I'll see if I can re-post just his face" when the mod said he deleted the post. That's why I also asked the mod's permission to post the wife's Facebook. The kids had no part in it, are just children for Christ sake... who do you think I am?

What I mean is that, if his family fell apart because of this I would not give a fuck. I would not give a fuck if Bill's life is a never ending saga of bill collectors calling him, custody battles, missed child support payments, etc. I would not feel bad if his kids didn't get to go out west every winter and if they had to move out of their nice house and picturesque life. Feel me? His wife was in on it too... fuck them and if their family falls apart because of it, that's fine with me. There has to be real life consequences, they can't just move on and get away with such a scam.


Personally, I've seen internet forums and communities come together to do good many times.

Bill part owner epic planks. Therefore was manufacturing skis for Batalla for a year and fucked them over. That is the only thing he was involved with regarding them. He then created revision in the aftermath of Batalla vs epic planks

From what I have heard batalla sued Epic Planks because they paid them to manufacture their skis and then Epic Planks didn't deliver. As a result Batalla got all of their equipment and started making skis in Texas, which apparently they were not good at. I never heard of a counter suit and I believe all the manufacturing equipment is still in Texas.

Looks like i was one of the lucky few to actually receive my pre-ordered skis, (almost 9 months after pre ordering 2 summers ago..) My blinks are still in the plastic from the day I got them. I finally removed the bubble wrap on the tips and tails, but not the plastic film that surrounds both skis. Come to find out that the tail of one ski is already delaminating, before its left the original wrapper.. Mind the rust, they've been in the closet for over a year. Im not sure what to do with them at this point. beater park skis perhaps, or a sacrifice to the snow gods.

Hit Bill in the neck with them.

Just throw some high strength epoxy on that delam and it should fix that portion of the delam.

So thats why they had a good warranty, theyre broken out of the box.

i really like them i had a pair for a season and half till they snapped cause i hit a tree. They survived a lot more than i expected. People always have something to say like damn thats an interesting pair to see but i mean i dont really care cause its skiing ya kno. I actually skied with 1 other homie at pc this season who had them i was pumped lol

If I saw an athlete still being sponsored by revision at keystone I would talk so much shit. As a a professional I think your level of responsibility to the integrity of the sport and the industry is greater than your need for a pair of cheap skis. To the 13 year old who bought revisions 4 seasons ago because they were a good deal and they still ski em because the ski refuses to die, thats a different story.

I have been following this thread and I am still appalled at how unresolved this case is and how unaccountable bill and revision have been in this whole process.

sorry man, i checked my dad's garage for this thread and i guess the older skis got thrown out or given away. all i have left is a 175 pair of ARVS that are beat to hell, edge ripping out etc. ill check those out tomorrow but IIRC theyre more trouble than theyre worth

idk if you have any interest in this but $250 for a solid park ski in 178 might be worth considering...? idk

What's the difference between a 13 yo kid who can't afford a more expensive set of skis and an athlete who can't afford a more expensive set of skis? You make it sound like it's the easiest thing to jump from sponsor to sponsor, and it's not any of the athlete's fault the company fell apart. Look at how long it took Sandy B to get from Revision to Line, he's got a bigger name that a lot of the other athletes that Revision was sponsoring.

It's not like it was some scheme where they made a bunch of money on false promises. Honestly a lot of them were as fucked as anyone. Realizing you suddenly don't have a ski sponsor mid season. Nobody was tagging revision after mid last season, even if they were still riding the skis.

Got a set of coming 185 Batalla reapers. Tops sheets are beat. But no edge cracks or core shots. But I’m in Switzerland. So shipping might be a bit.

Idk if anyone else has noticed this or commented on it but ive started to see brand new pairs of revision talisman and blinks on ebay stores and even amazon. I thought i remembered reading something about a bunch of revisions being found in a warehouse and sold at wholesale.Does anyone else suspect that these may be the skis that people ordered and never received?

Yeah but there's nothing they can do cuz those companies likely obtained them legally. For example skis.com bought a bunch and sold them. Likely unfulfilled orders

Damn that sucks, I considered buying some blinks on ebay because theyre so cheap for a 105 underfoot but id feel bad every time i clicked in. also seeing as they were delaming out of the box i think ill keep looking

Who is going out of their way to make excuses? The dude is trash and if anything, you'd think if he lived in a low income neighborhood, he wouldn't have the resources and people would be more understanding. Either way the dude is trash and I hope he gets slammed with a lawsuit or is forced to refund all the kids who he screwed over.

I got some beat to hell 185cm volkl walls in my garage. They're at my house in NH and I'm at school in norway at least until may. PM me and maybe I can get someone to ship them or if you live nearby I can probably ask my grandma to leave them outside lol.

Revision's name I find so ironic as I could find about 10 things in the first night they need to revise on those skis. I totally get its hard to make skis but if your name means to revise something at least put in a little effort so everyone doesnt give you shit bout it.

Impressed your friend even got them, the name is ironic but they also knew the skis sucked so they gave a good warranty.
Still amazes me that a scumbag from the ski industry goes Keyser Soze and dissappears without anyone having a clue as to where he went.

-Revision is still selling skis.
-They are shipping full price skis ordered in January ahead of the preorders that came through in August. Across oceans no less.
-They used your preorder money to buy skis, and they are selling them to someone else if they are willing to pay a higher price. Even if you get your skis, they have obviously put you at the back of the queue.

I hope this page of the thread gets read in a courtroom someday. Fuck Bill Wanrooy.


hoodwinkhUpdate: I received my Blink skis from Fedex here in France around the beginning of March, but have had issues with the postal service getting hold of them until last week so only have a few days on them.

Jesus what tyrol said said is fucked but I guess makes sense at firsr, people paid for preorder, money went to producing the skis, sold to someone else for more (?) That's fucked. I know my homie got some revision pow skis off the house or something like that, probably someone in this threads.

I mean, the website is still up. Someone is paying for that website to stay live.

The site is still saying there are skis in stock and gives you the option to still buy skis (whether the transaction would go through or not I don't know, obviously I'm not going to take that risk).

AND, I'm assuming this is from 2017, or even 2016, but there's a notice saying 'We are releasing our new ski lineup on August 1st!'

Surely authorities would have caught onto this by now and ordered the website to be taken down, at the end of the day it's classed as a scam if they're still allowing people to buy skis? Thoughts?
