I don't want you to take this the wrong way, I really do appreciate you going out of your way to deliver quality content ESPECIALLY on your own dime. I also realize this isn't something that can just be created overnight (but let's not forget this has gone on for months). So maybe I'm directing this comment towards the wrong person. Maybe it's NS at fault for not putting more efforts into getting this piece created? What makes you say "at this rate there's a good chance I wont even get paid."? obviously a lot has changed since then. whole situation is fucked and I doubt most people will be getting their skis ever. I never got mine, but I've seen a few out in the wild. Even if they do show up, at this point it doesn't matter. I feel really bad for everyone involved in this. Customers and athletes especially.

I'm trying to learn from every experience and proceed accordingly. This one is tough cause it certainly shakes up some strong beliefs I've held. I'll continue to support rider owned brands. I'll be more strict in my assessment of that, more to the tune of what EO was saying in the beginning of this thread.

What the fuck is there to research? lol It's not a fucking term paper, it's do you have a record whether or not you mailed my skis I ordered to my address? They obviously have a record of all our credit cards which they charged and took our money over a half of a year ago so I don't see why it's so hard to keep track of who you did and didn't ship skis to.

Pretty sure they're just gonna forever keep sending us shit that says they're working on it so that they can avoid any lawsuits by saying they're working to fix the problems.

I have been lurking on this topic since I ordered my revision skis in November last year. Their customer service team was absolute crap in helping me at all or keeping me updated.

After not hearing back from them for a while, I filed a claim in April with my credit card company that Revision didn't fulfill their service obligation and I was refunded in full.

I just got an email today from my credit card company that they have recharged me the full amount because apparently, Revison has a 120 day dispute policy, and since it was 153 days until I filed the claim with the credit card company, I still had to pay the full amount for skis I never received.

Did anyone else have this problem? I am trying to talk to my credit card company because I received an email from Revision a month before I filed the claim saying that I would receive an email shortly when they ship my skis (which they never did). I feel like because revision sent me that email, I should have 120 days to file the claim from that time (which I did).

I am honestly at a loss for words for this company. I have never dealt with a more horrible business than Revision Skis.

step one. Start a company offer a ridiculous warranty that gets hoard of new customers on board.

step two. Next year raise prices on pre orders, exclude preorders from order refund policy, keep promising customers skis until the normal 120 day period on most major debit/credit card companies to get transactions refunded.

step three. Profit?

I say we sneak into the revision factory at night and hook up a set of jumper cables to their backup generator, then catch him unawares when he comes in the next morning and get to work. Nothing like 480 volts of electricity straight to the nipples to get those skis on fedex next day delivery.

For real!! Lost a lot of interest/respect for guys I follow on Instagram still tagging them in their posts. Any skis they got from them this season were basically stolen from me and everyone else.

If they somehow come back next season.... then any "pro" who gets their new skis is just as big of a crook as Revision IMO.

Not saying that your opinion is wrong but tbh unless you personally know their situations (and maybe you do, I don't) this is kind of a fucked up viewpoint. like what if they have a contract to fulfill and this guy is the type to sue. what if they rely on that sponsorship to make rent and are having trouble finding another program to get on. I mean it blows and revision deserves to be way the fuck out of business or in civil suit but the athletes can't 100% be held accountable for this stuff. They signed up to be ambassadors based on what the company did in their first 3 years of business. They had no more clue than anybody else this was gonna happen and might be caught in a bad spot. It looks really bad to completely abandon a sponsor in general, and id hope this industry would understand them breaking their contracts but generally any breach of contract is not viewed as a good thing and those guys have very little to nothing to do with the business side of things

Dude fuck that. even thought i was one of the lucky few who got a set they still owe me the second set of skis I ordered, and they fucked over many of my friends too so no need to preach to me. I know the extent of the season ruining screw job that is Revision skis. I don't support them AT ALL.

To you the situation of the athlete doesn't matter because you are not the damn athlete and its fucking easy for us on newschoolers to sit at a computer and armchair quarterback peoples lives and choices. same shit happened when people thought Jonah was ditching RMU for atomic. he got lots of hate for that and is one of the nicest people on skis, all because some kid on a computer thought he was abandoning the "core"....he was literally borrowing the skis because his broke...no sponsor input at all. If you don't know the situation then you don't know what factors are involved in their choice. Just like if a person stays with a cheating, abusive partner (which happens all the time unfortunately in those situations). yes that partner is a complete shitbag asshole and theoretically they shouldn't stay but they do for a plethora of reasons that are impossible to understand unless you are the one making that choice. You (we) don't know the exact situation and how you would act so until you do try to see it from a different point of view. not saying they are right to still be repping, god knows I wouldn't be but who the fuck are we to pass character judgements on people for a fucking instagram post. If i had some usable sticks laying around this season they would have gone to one of my buddies who got fucked over by Revision, and I'm sure that pretty much everybody on this site would do something similar given the option in that situation.

look up some of the shit that goes down in skateboarding some time....the sponsor drama and business strong-arming that went down when world industries was still under rocco was strait up demonic. they stiffed so many skate shops so many times. do you think rodney mullen supported that? no way...but did he still ride for and co-own world and take the checks? you betcha. does he still deserve respect? undoubtedly. He would probably call that entire side of world industries a mistake but at the time him supporting them allowed the entire company to take off and change an entire industry for the better. not saying that is what is happening here but just food for thought.

I know you said the situation doesn't matter to you, but I'll post what I know just for others to consider. I personally don't place any blame on any of the athletes.

Everyone was strung along just as much as the customers were. There were more than a handful of people with contracts worth 2k+. They were led to believe that skis were going to be delivered to customers and to them along with their checks. None of that ever happened obviously. How were they supposed to know that?

If tagging revision was gonna get them 2 grand and some promised future moment then why not just do it. Especially if there were no alternative ski sponsors available. Getting skis from a new brand mid season is hard enough. There certainly wasn't budget laying around to get paid.

In response to what was being said above about the athletes

Lol at the anyone attacking Revision's athletes as if they have anything to do with this.

Are there really any athletes still taking or hashtagging revision anymore? I mean, they're still riding the skis, but that's because they don't have another option at the moment, but I haven't seen anyone post anything to promote the company otherwise in a very long time. They got just as fucked as everyone in this situation. From what I understand, the skis they're on are from the previous seasons post runs (typical for a company to run "next years" skis the year before), they happen to have enough to last a while, but I don't think anyone got paid, or is getting skis that should have gone to a customer first - I might be wrong, but that's what I've heard around.

As Sklar has said, we are putting together a piece covering this. We have yet to raise any response out of Bill. Could anyone who reads this and has yet to receive their skis drop me a PM?

Hell, there were people in this thread who still thought they might get their skis in april, a few who did. For the most part nobody thought this would end up as fucked as it did.

It was a bad situation with some hope, that went even more south, and ended up completely fucked.

Athletes that were riding for revision now have to find a new ski company for next year. It's not as if they're all hanging with bill in Fiji or something.

The whole situation ended so badly it's still hard to believe.
