Hit the....Streets or Urban? Which is it?

Why do some people get up in arms when someone calls skiing a handrail in the city "urban" to which they correct them and say it's hitting "street"?
Is one more "accepted" than the other?

People were calling it urban long before anyone was calling it street skiing. Then once it started to be cool to try to incorporate "skate style" into skiing the influence carried over. Skaters don't call it urban they go skate the street thus the influence. I bet your friends that get worked up about calling it urban also put up their puppy paws when they land. Call it whatever you want they both make sense, I'm sure we stole "urban" from snowboarders or something anyway

yeah didnt you get the memo? it's only cool to call it street now
nothing substantive to it, it's just trends and like the above poster said, probably borrowed from skating
