Cork or nah? What is a cork!

Ok here's a big question I have had as a skier for a long time what is a cork I have seen videos lots of videos and tutorials but they're all different style and some people flip and others don't I just don't understand what it is or how to do it. Here is a video of my attempt at a cork 7 but I cannot tell if it's a backflip 7 or a cork 7 can someone tell me... here's the link

The trick in the video is a cork, possibly a d-spin (which is generally accepted as being a more inverted version of a cork.) It was definitely not a back flip 7, or a back double full as it gymnasts call it. A backflip 7 is actually the equivalent (in terms of rotation) of a cork 1080. A back 3 or back full is the equivalent of a cork 7. This is because in a cork, the flip itself counts as part of the rotation, if that makes any sense. What you did was not a backflip 360 because you did not go completely inverted.

Try and be more patient on your takeoff and pop harder instead of just leaning back. Try going faster as well.

Yeah it's a cork thrown the way most people learn them on the tramp, which is probably how you learned this. That was sick that you had the balls to attempt that, especially on carvers!

Haha ya that was the second time ever hitting that jump it was very end of season I figured if I lost my balls ski seasons over 😂

try to throw it more like a spin. and remember to keep your head back. you don't want your head to dip down off the takeoff like that. i had the same problem but once i did it off a poppy ass jump i just threw it like a spin and kept my head back and it also made it super easy to spot my landing.

Sure, but when you grab tail, you'll bend your knees and twist your body differently. Doing that will cause you to throw the trick slightly differently.

Its Sort of silly to debate what your trick is when you haven't gotten it dialed and styled. When you're still in the "chucking it" phase it will look off.
