Hey guys,
Would really like some advice here
-I'm 5'8 (173cm), 150lbs, 26y/o
-Advanced/expert skier
-No budget
-Spend 2/3 of my time skiing off piste desperately looking for fresh snow and the other 1/3 in the park. When skiing off piste I like to go very fast
-I will only be skiing when I have a holiday and go on a trip somewhere. This year it will be Banff region and Zermatt
-I'm only going to own one ski so I need one that can do it all
Given this I'm thinking of getting either the 178 salomon Rocker2 100 or the 178 (maybe 184) Sir francis bacons.
One concern I have with the SFBs is their durability. From this review from Twig (https://www.newschoolers.com/news/read/The-Roofbox-Depth-2016-Line-Sir-Francis-Bacon) he mentions he was concerned with the durability given its new lightweight construction. Can anyone who skied these last year comment on how well they held up after a season? I'm definitely going to be hitting rails so durability is important to me. Also, I've heard these ski short, think I should go for the 184 instead of 178?
The Rocker2 seems like the safe choice to me. I've had good experiences with salomon skis and found them reliable, but I was thinking of trying something new or at least seeing what's out there.
I'm open to other ski suggestions you think would suit what I'm looking for. Let me know what you guys think.
