Getting bindings mounted

how much does getting your bindings mounted usually cost?

I just called my local ski shop in (who gives a shit Iowa) and they said 70 bucks and I was kinda like wtf that seems a little high so I'm just wondering what ski shops in summit or just out west in general cost?

From personal experience, that seems a little expensive, but not by much. Do they offer anything with the mount? like a wax or sharpen.

No they just mount them and set the dins

Yeah thats super expensive. for $50 I get a mount, wax, and sharpen. Look around for another shop imo

All the shops around me in MA charge $50... Still pretty absurd in my eyes. $20-30 seems about the right price for putting a jig on a board and pulling the trigger for a drill...

Most shops charge more for a remount than new (flat) mount as there are extra steps for plugging the old holes.

My shop is usually $50 for a mount and full DIN adjustment, detune included if its a brand new ski. I'm pretty sure its a reduced rate or even free if you buy the ski and binding at the shop.

$50 is the standard I know of, I'm helping out some friends this year and mounting their skis for free, I tell them to just pay me in food or something.

Not this shit again. $50-$75 is standard across all shops. You might think its expensive but you are paying for the indemnification of all employees (that's proper training for all you young bucks.) They are paying for the tools to get the job done. They are paying for the tech to do the job, They are paying the rent and for the lights to be on. They are taking on the liability that the job is done correctly and that if sued they have coverage. Nobody is getting rich mounting skis. If you really have a problem with it, talk to the lawyers. Them and the litigious environment in the States have made it this way.

also most shops will gladly do it for free/discounted if you actually spend your money with them and not bring in stuff you bought off the internet. support the local ski shops. If you can't do it yourself then what do you expect?

My shop charges $50 for a mount. It is $30 if you purchase with them.

couldnt have said it better myself. while some think its just slap a jig on and drill. we still have to release check and set the dins to the proper range. and yes, we set it to the specified DIN and not what you think it should be.

Corbets in Ontario will mount them for free and within the day if its a slow day! I think we charge about 50 Canadian to get them mounted but a lot of the time we dont charge people because they bring in big business by buying new stuff every season. Happy costumer happy boss's. All workers get free mounts so thats a bonus :) - just buy bindings at the store.. free mounts :)

Most shops are all for taking care of their customers. Labor is the easiest to discount and its a great way to stoke out your people. Its the folks that buy all their gear online then turn around and want deals on labor that will put you out of business. Remember people, you get what you pay for.

I got my bindings re mounted for free because i bought them local. Buy local! But the ski shop does charge 60 bucks if you didnt buy it from them.

I buy local when I can but I got pivots this year for 75 bucks
