tomPietrowskiit does have a pretty big effect on carving yes. When I test skis Ill have them with demo bindings so I can move mount points and test different things and it is quite striking how much centering a non symmetrical ski effects the carving performance. These days the recommended mount point is really going to be the best bet for skiing out of the park. Brands dont just come up with the mount point . The ski is designed to ski best in a certain way and unless you are using the ski 100% in the park center is not usually teh best spot. But thats not to say some wont enjoy it there is just that your not getting the best out of the ski. No centered skis still work fine in the park so unless you will be 100% park maybe look to mount closer to recommended.
DoledHexNew question. How hard is it to get a ski re-mounted lol?
jjdsteezeWalk in to a shop and ask them to remount it?
DoledHexSo the answer is no, not hard.
jjdsteezeyes, not hard, but also not recommended. unless the are really far off from where you wanted them mounted.

tomPietrowskiYeah its super easy to remount so long as you are just moving mount position rather then changing bindings and wanting to keep the same mount point. Wont really effect the ski other then lowering resale value slightly.
Your other option is to have freedom inserts fitted in the old holes and also the new mount you get. That way you can switch between a couple of differnt mounts if you want. More expensive but does give you options
DoledHexI mounted my K2 Shreditors at center, but will be doing the majority of my skiing outside of the park. I don't have a lot of experience with mounting so I went with center. Should I bother re-mounting or just ride it out?

tomPietrowskireally its not a huge thing honestly. If you have skied for years and know how to lay down an edge you will notice it for sure but if you and newer, just ride those bad boys center. Center honestly is not the best the majority of the time so next time mount nearer to recommended but you already have them mounted so just rip them. You will enjoy them where they are and if you really do find you don't enjoy how the ski works for you, get them mounted back, but for now just keep them where they are
